So far I have 3 friends that bought decent setups after seeing my success (and hearing how happy and satisfied I am), 4 others buy Njoys from the gas station from time to time, I think at least 6 others are serious about trying it out or picking one up soon, and a few others are definitely curious. One friend that switched said his dad and sister are thinking about it too. Everyone that tried it so far pretty much liked it more than cigarettes right away. I only started vaping 49 days ago, so I'd say it's spreading pretty quick. How many people have you converted so far?

Two close friends converted, my brother in law who tried my Provari this past Christmas and immediately went and bought a Lux, maybe a few strangers that asked about it upon seeing me (out of several dozen at least a few maybe have tried it) and still working on the wife!

I got one person who still smokes half the time, and one known full convert. I've had many failures, though.

I've found that if you buy or give someone a kit and plenty of liquid they tend to fail. It seems better to just give basic info and let them do the rest on their own - at least until they are a month or two into it. People need to spend the time, money, and effort to commit to vaping if it is going to work for them.

I have tried to convert 5 people and all were epic fails. Bought start up kits for 2 of them and they both went back to smoking. Gave another one a boat load of batts to get started and she lasted about 3 days. The key here is I wanted to quit, they were just toying with the idea of quitting.

I agree! I've given batteries, charger, cartos, and juice to someone who didn't want to quit and they haven't even used them yet. Trying to get them back so I can at least give them to someone that wants to try it! WANTING to quit is the key to converting people.

Very good points. Those who weren't resolute in some form quitting never were much interested in e-cigs/vaping. It gets really weird when they are nearly coughing themselves to death and still want to continue smoking ... lol

Each has his own date with his maker.

I'm really new to vaping. I started with a blu kit almost 3 weeks ago. I was really nervous about busting it out in front of other people. I thought they would just think I'm an idiot. My original thought was that most non smokers would think vaping is stupid. Non smokers (people that have never ever smoked) don't understand. They think that quitting is just as simple as choosing not to do it anymore. They have no idea what nicotine addiction is like, and they have no idea what the mental addiction to smoking is like. You can't explain it to them. But to my surprise when I finally decided to pull out the blu kit in front of non smokers, MOST of them were really supportive. I didn't get slammed with negativity like I expected. At first they were a little confused by it, but after I told them that because of this device, I had cut down from 20 cigarettes a day to 3 a day, they seemed to understand. I'm sure in the back of their minds, they are thinking that it would be better to just straight up quit nicotine altogether, and I would agree with them. But those of us that are addicted to nicotine and smoking know how hard it is to give it up. A lot of people die trying to quit. I really really embrace the idea of vaping. You still get to go through the rituals you love, you still get the sensation of smoking, and you don't get all the horrible consequences. I'm not sure if I'll vape forever, but for the time being, I'm extremely happy doing it. I enjoy the fact that I can still take a smoke break (vape break) at work and know that I'm not destroying my body and health in the process. Nicotine addiction doesn't really bother me. It's the burning of tobacco and inhaling the smoke that bothers me.

Yesterday I graduated from the blu to the eGo twist. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I'm not sure how the guys at work will react to this model. I hope they are as accepting of it as the blu, but something tells me that I'm going to get a bit of resistance about it because it doesn't even mimic a real cigarette. But after using the twist for 2 days, I have a feeling that the blu will only be used as a last resort from now on.

As far as converting people. I'm not going to do it. If a smoker approaches me and wants to more about it, I will gladly tell them what I know. But I'm not going to push the issue with the smokers I know. It's a personal decision. Vaping won't work for anybody that doesn't want it to work.

Heck yeah, 2 more just joined the club! A co-worker showed me his new cig-a-like tonight (cross one off the 'seriously considering it' list), and another bought a bottom feeder from out of the blue! I want to be clear that I don't go out with a motive to "convert" people, but friends definitely ask questions and I give them my honest opinions, the good and the bad. It just makes me really happy when they do try it and find they love it. I care about my friends and their health, and vaping is just such a great step forward to a healthier life. It feels like I discovered something and it's making an impact, and it's an awesome feeling. Smoking is something we all felt guilty about, and now we're on a brighter path.

Scoper50, don't be shy to use your bigger kit out in public! I actually found that people are more interested in vaping when they see there's other stuff besides the cig-a-likes, most people don't realize there's a lot more to it! You have a great attitude about vaping, be proud and keep it up! You're on a road to great success!

Yeah I'm not on a crusade to "convert" people either... I shared my experience with a neighbor, and he expressed interest, so I offered to go with him to a local shop and pick out a good stater setup (not a kit that he'd find a pain)... so far so good for him - not smoke-free yet, but moving in the "right" direction. His family is appreciative too. As I'm sure most of us do, we've got to share our experiences/knowledge outside this forum too.
