So I would be better or worse using standard resistance 2.5 DCC's?

If you don't already know the answer to this question you should not be using stacked batteries. Learn what you are doing first so you can manage the risk involved with stacked batteries. There have been at least eight explosions that we know of from stacked batteries probably more that were only reported to dealers. There were two explosions reported in the press since January. We don't know if they were stacked batteries but suspect that they were.

"there are several videos of batteries going off and others showing the aftermath from one that did go off"-seen them and they don't qualify as an explosion in my eyes but rather a small fire.
lolololololololol

You act as if something turning into a "small fire" in your mouth is harmless.

It's more like vaping the barrel of a gun. The people that wound up in the hospital were basically shot with a carto that went through their teeth because that was the weakest point in the battery.

I'm very sorry to read that, it's awlful, however this kind of media attention will eventually ruin the chance for many people to even try ecigs.

More than likely this was a stacked mod by reading the comment made from the fireman, not your adverage 510 that has pulled thousands away from analogs altogether.

Not to mention the last INCORRECT statment from the doctor that they contain antifreeze! It's amazing how people hear something and just run with it.

As for the long term effects from vaping...time will tell. I may be growing a third nipple.....no....wait, that's just a zit. My bad :)

Well after reviewing a dozen videos on Youtube of lithium batteries “exploding” I have come to the conclusion that I have very little to worry about. Every video that is able to demonstrate a failure is only able to do so using either a puncture via nail, or forcing a continued circuit. Either way the results were smoke before fire (if I see smoke coming from my Silver Bullets button, the thing is getting tossed far far away) and the fire in itself could hardly be called an explosion. When people say “explode” I think c4 not a fizzling fire like I witnessed. (all of the batteries were much larger than my 123 mind you) Furthermore I would think that the Bullets tube would become quite hot before going critical (a telltale sign of a problem) Worst case scenario in my eyes is very slim chance of mishap, that would result in a destroyed mod. The whole idea of a battery going *tick BOOM! with no warning is highly unlikely. I am by no means an expert but I see the truth in video not numbers on a chart. Just the same I appreciate the feedback.

I think your approach is seriously flawed, if you're making a judgement call about freak accidents via youtube...I think you owe it to yourself, as well as the e-cig community, to learn w.e you can to vape in the safest way possible and mitigate risk. It might sound like an individual choice, but if something happens to you, something happens to all of us. No one plans for their mod to explode and rocket into their face, but I definetely think you could come up with a better course of action then hoping you're gunna know how to safely throw a grenade, if you're mod turns into one. It just seems like risky teenage "never gunna happen to me" thinking. In which case, what was the point of quitting smoking...

I can see it now...e-cig, causes man to grow third nipple, which secretes anti-freeze......protect your children!

Sorry to rant BUT... THIS is why e-cig regulation WILL happen! Because some naive people will do what they want to, regardless.

Ask the guy in FL what he thinks of the "small fire"! Ever seen chemical burns? Ever fall asleep on a tv remote? if it was a pv, do you think "a little smoke" would wake you up so you could "throw it"?

If you want to ignore all the research and advice fine, but don't do it near me! It's "selfish/naive/unknowledgable" vapers who put the whole ecog industry at risk.

I hope nothing bad ever happens to you but if it does it affects ALL of us.

Why do you think ECF (and other pro-vaping organizations) are trying to "self regulate"? Because sone people, for whatever reason, NEED to be nannied!

What the correct quote here? 'You can lead a horse...' or 'Stupid is as stupid does'?

Many good points raised in this thread, and I'd like to offer a hat-tip to Darwin (not the PV especially, but to the gentleman for whom the "Darwin Awards" were named). I think Mr. Darwin had the right idea, and that laws passed to circumvent its outcome defy the natural benevolence of Creation. Stupidity is *designed* to self-destruct so as not to self-perpetuate. This is as it should be. People intent upon blowing themselves up should be encouraged to do so in places of obscurity and privacy, lest they cause disturbance & discomfort among the sane. Perhaps they should be offered special discounts on boat rentals or something, I dunno.

I write this with great compassion, for I have done many stupid things myself and have no idea why my Creator chose to keep me around in spite of myself. I pray He'll do the same for the O.P. for as long as it takes. But in such matters I much prefer relying upon the Wisdom of my Creator, Who knows what He's Doing, than upon that of Government, which clearly has no clue.

Happy (and safe) Vaping! :vapor:
