Maybe I filled my cart too much. Today I took a drag from my e-cig and got a small bit of liquid in my mouth, sucked it right thru the mouth piece i guess. The atomizer was HOT!

I spit, rinsed my mouth and let the thing cool down a bit. No more problems, even with same cartridge. Oddly enough, I didn't get any sort of light headed, feel sick nictoine buzz.

How dangerous is it to get a mouthful of this stuff?
Why did my atomizer get so bloomin' hot?
Was it that I probably overfilled? (been frustrated with carts not lasting long, maybe I got overzealous?)

Not sure what's up with your atomizer, but the liquid isn't that dangerous. I've gotten it in my mouth several times with no adverse effects. As a matter of fact, I was watching a video review (ratinthehat I think) where the guy was actually licking it off his fingers after refilling a cart.

Guys not to sound like I am a machine
I have gotten so much in my mouth I would hiccup for an hour
I am not one of safest nor neatest people when it comes to my juice, if this has not killed me with the amounts I have ingested or got on my hands, then in my eyes, you will be okay

so....no reports on longtime effects of injesting accidentally? Of course, it was a very small amount 18mg (medium) I would assume that in large quantities it could make one very ill, or potentially fatal, as in, overdose.

I have sucked up plenty of liquid when I started and suffered no real setbacks other than a drying mouth or tongue feeling dry. Drink plenty of water when vaping though. I was using 36mg at the time.

I think you'll find that it is more unpleasant in small quantities than it is dangerous. If it happens often enough, some have gotten canker sores so you did the right thing by rinsing immediately.

Yes, you may have overfilled the cart but it sounds like you also took too hard of a drag. If you draw too hard, the atomizer doesn't have time to do its job so the liquid gets thru instead of vapor. My atomizer also gets hot. Most have a cut off switch to prevent damage.

Slow even drags off the e-cig and ensuring the cart filler looks moist, not soaking wet should help prevent that from happening again.

p.s. Rat! Don't lick e-liquid off your fingers and wash your hands right away before you forget (accidentally rub your eyes once and you'll never forget). There's a big diff between that stuff in liquid form and vaped. Keep yourself safe and your products as sanitary as possible. We aren't pullling fresh analogs out of a pack anymore. 8-o

I've read nictoine in it's pure form is a poison--not just as in cigarettes--and I've heard this more than once in my life. That was my real concern. I havne't been concerned with using the e-cig, as opposed to smoking, though I was worried about getting it on my hands. Naturally, I always wash immediately after refilling my carts.

You guys have put me somewhat at ease though. If a bad taste now and then is all, it's worth it till I can quit smoking and learn how to properly work out all my kinks.

Ah, but what we have here is not nicotine in it's pure form. The worst I've had is a really bad taste in my mouth that sent me running to the fridge.

Happened to me plenty of times and it's always because I'm sucking too hard on the thing. Take a few 'priming' puffs to allow the atomiser to warm up and then a gentle, even draw.

Overfilling the cartridge also does it (I store my ecigs battery end down in a tub).

While you're not likely to come to harm, don't go licking your fingers and wash your hands, particularly if you have kids or pets around! The stuff is far from pure nicotine, but the concentration in the liquid is high enough to make it toxic (lethal dose for an adult is 60mg which is less than 2ml of the 36mg juice, but you'd have to swallow it all at once. It breaks down quickly in the body. However, a few drops might harm the cat that's weaving between your legs while you drip/top up).

Yes, if you look at the recipe for e-juice, the nicotine is < 1.7% or another very low number. It's quite diluted.

I think even if you drank a 35ml bottle and threw up, you would probably still live....maybe.

That's all really interesting. I know any time I've been really upset and chain smoking one after another I'd feel extremely nauseous. I never considered how much nicotine was actually in these bottles of e-liquid.
