How did I spent 444 pounds ($663) in 2 weeks?

As you can see on my profile, I am a relatively new member of this forum. However I have been a "visitor" for quite some time now. I have to thank everyone who helped me on making the decision to switch.

However, I have to say, I find the saying that e-cigs are 75% cheaper compared to analogs quite untrue. Why? See the attached image to find out why (I wish I could embed the image to the post, but I can't because I didn't post 15 posts or more yet). To see the full resolution of the image, see i43[dot]tinypic[dot]com/2vwsln9.gif

The above image shows the purchases I have made during the last 2-3 weeks. Total is outstanding 444 pounds (or $663 for my American friends). I know that now I'm quite stocked and it will last quite some time.

As a newbie to this world, what do you think about it? Am I missing a product good for beginners? Let me know your thoughts.

According to my smoking calculator that I use on another site my tobacco costs over the last 5 months would have been $1500 (i smoked 2.5 to 3 packs a day) While my vaping total for the same time period is around $500 and I bet I have at least 9 to 12 months of supplies built up so for me 75% savings is pretty close and probably even a low estimate.

This is really not the kind of thing where you say "well normally in a week i spend $80 USD for two cartons of smokes but omg, look I spent $400 in the same week on e-cigs and supplies."

Currently waiting on all of my orders for a total price "so far" is just under $300.00 and still wanting to buy the Janty ego when they arrive. Im new at this and understandably would need to buy quite a few things to be set up. Seems I have become obsessed with it all. hehe Been smoking for apprx 35 years, 3 packs a day for the past ten years. Imagine that cost! Its way past time for a change and well worth the expense. Keeping fingers crossed : )

I've been vaping over 3 months now, spent around £180 and have a good 180ml+ of juice.

E-cigs are not expensive, you got carried away, i can see from your order you have like 3 e-cigs, 120ml juice+ and like 250 pre-filled carts..

That's your own fault.. in 2 weeks you would had probably used 20-30ml juice, 1 atty, 1 -2batterys and would of cost you around £40 so far.

I love this post because you start out saying, "oh my gosh! look how much I spend on this so called cheaper alternative" and end it by saying, "what else should I buy?" Ha! Welcome to the world of vaping! I've only spent $200 so far and I plan to make it last for at least a while. BTW: I would normally spend that much on 6 weeks of cigarettes, so it's not that much when you think about it.

On the bright side, you'll have a great time getting acquainted with your new toys. Being new to vaping, you bought 3 different types of vaping devices. You may decide to just continue using the one you like most out of the three. Or you may decide to keep and continue using all (which would continue to cost you a bit since they are not necessarily interchangeable). Either way, enjoy your purchase and welcome to the forum. :)

I've done the same thing. Ordered about $700AUD of stuff in the first two weeks, after the initial success of the 510. Then I stopped myself, and thought...why? I like the stock 510 with the cheap dekang juices, it's done it's job and kept me off cigarettes, why am I ordering every mod/juice/model under the sun.

I had to take a step back, and remind myself, the initial reason why I switched to E-cigs...not to enjoy vapor, but to get off the analog rubbish. The 510 did that, and is still doing that.

My initial kit and extras is still going strong, it had only cost $120, and i haven't used anything else. If you look at my counter, it's more then paid for itself (though smokes are very expensive in this country)

Yep, one can get caught up in the world of vaping. At first I was wondering the same thing about the savings but when I realized all I really needed was a new 510 and 2 bottles of liquid a month it all came into focus. I now spend $60 a month and I was a 3 pk. a day smoker so it is now a BIG savings. By buying a new 510 ea. month I'm now getting enough atty's and batteries built up that I really could get by for awhile if I needed to.

My next purchase is going to be the new EGO because I work away from home in the summer and need the extra battery life so I'm sure the most it's going to cost is a couple of bottles of juice a month now.

Good Luck to You!

I Don't Blow Smoke I VAPE!!!:D:D:D

Back in the States
saving is a relative term. I was in Germany last year. Pack of Mburls 5 euro a pack. For my fellow americans around 7$ a pack. Times that by how many packs a day, week, year and the fact that these are all disposable and you will be ahead of the game. Also looking at the list, you are well stocked and have a whiles worth of stuff. Then there's the health savings of not inhaling all the smoke sooooooooooo.

I most likely spent a few hundred dollars easy after buying my Ego...But, a lot of that was for backups....5 extra batteries (autos) even though I have not really used them much...Buy 5 attys each week for the first few weeks to be safe....and being new, I just want to try out new flavors...I most likely have enough juice to last me at least 2 months...Enough attys to last me at least 4 months...and of course the batteries that would most likely last me a year or more...
So, unless I get carried away again on juice, my monthly expenses from here till 2011 will be less then $500.00 for a few more attys and a few more bottles of juice...One hell-of-a-lot cheaper then the $42.00 per week I pay for cigs...Not a bad exchange for better health, better smelling cloths, and all the other benefits...Later, PaulCincy...

Homeish now
WOW...umm lets see in the same time frame I've bought (this stuff is as bad as reef keeping for wanting to buy more stuff)
The blu starter kit..60.00
e-liquid: menthal, strawberry and vanilla..10.00 each and clove for 9.00
and I just ordered(cant wait for it to get here)
a joye 510 start kit and the charge box thing..for 80.00

So 179.00 USD
BUT
I smoked about three cartons of Cig's a month(hacks)..at 55.00 a piece so 165.00 a month.
Figure I have enough Ejuice to last more then a month...so I should see saving by next month. :)
