Smoked for 15 years straight anywhere between 1 to 4 PAD, I LOVE tobacco and I smoked cigars, pipe, ryo....I also used snus and nasal snuff...quit cigarettes cold turkey 6 years ago. I was nicotine free about 3 years, but then stress got the better of me. I started bumming smokes from my buddies, and buying an occasional pack of my own. Then snus came into play to deter me from the ciggies. Then I added smoking @ work...I found myself full on addicted to nicotine again. I was well aware of ecigs but had never considered them. On a fluke after seeing a commercial for a local B&M I got online and started shopping. I found some cheap disposables, watched a couple of vid reviews and ordered a hand full. Moved on to egos and then a couple of VV mods. 2.5 months later - 0 cigs & 3 snus since my first puff on an ecig (I HATE smelling like cigarettes). Now I can't imagine going back to cigs or snus.....I will probably NEVER consider not smoking a cigar or pipe, but I haven't smoked either in months.

PAD smoker for 14 years. Husband brought home a couple Njoy for us to try in 2011. I liked it, but they gave me headaches, even if I just hit it a few times in an hour. That put me off of them. By fall 2012 I was ready to quit and tried them again. Quickly went from disposables to the good stuff. Learned that PG doesn't bother me at all. Nicotine bothers me a lot though. It made kicking the addiction quite painless, but not the habit. I'll be 6 months quit on th 6th. Still not a hardcore vaper. I mostly just do it for fun now, with and without nic, some days all day, some days not at all.

Two people in my BFF's family switched to e-cigs and the info was passed eventually to me. The two both raved about how they had not had any smokes since switching and how much better they felt, less coughing, could breathe better now, etc. Sounded pretty great to me!! I had smoked for 27 years. Ordered some V2 disposables and then was so flabbergasted by the amount of info online, I got back in touch with these guys and they pointed me in the Ego starter kit direction. I had two and one-half analogs the first week and none since then. The one-half was lit out of pure, unadulterated habit, not because I wanted one. I then tried to smoke it because I didn't want to "waste" it, but couldn't gag it down so I threw it out. So almost two weeks tobacco-free and already I notice an improvement with breathing and 1000% less coughing... I can actually sleep through the night now!

2 pack a day smoker for last 20 plus years. My best friend since high school started the ecigs a couple of years ago.

I actually initially laughed at him and gave him a hard time. He has lost about 40 lbs since and now is a avid cyclist and does 100 mile
bike rides. Guess who's laughing now.

Anyway my wife and kids have been on me to quit and so here I am 1 month into vaping thanks to the inspiration of my good buddy.

I'd never heard of e-cigs back in '08 or '09 when I saw a banner ad for Blu. The idea fascinated me, so I screwed up & ordered the Blu. In spite of the sheer suck that was that original pcc blu kit, I kept on until I found a 901 mini kit, smoked my last analog & I've been going ever since. I did 2 packs a day for 14 years before then.

2-3 PAD for 40+ years, occasionally buying gas station ecigs but not happy with them. Was taking a theology class at Church, during a break found a friend in the small smoking area vaping away. Spent the next hour with her, skipping the remainder of the theology class, while she answered all my newbie questions, and I sampled several juices she had in her purse. Ordered a kit and juices next day.

By skipping theology class at Church and learning about vaping, one could say God works in mysterious ways! LOL.

PAD smoker for 22 years, my mom for 42 years. Saw an ad for the Blu and was telling my mom about it. She ordered one for each of us. Liked the idea, and I used it here and there, but became frustrated with it often. When the battery charger blew up one of the e-cigs, I tossed it all aside. About 6 months later I ran into a friend with a 510 and took a drag. Holy crap, what a difference! Went to a local shop 5 minutes away from me and discovered a whole new world. Goodbye smokes! Now I need to convince my mom to join me. The fact that I quit has her intrigued. :)

Funny enough - my Mom. She's been wanting me to quit for a long time, but is never one to be pushy about it at all. We were having an online Yahoo Msg conversation and she just threw in a link to an article about "The Doctors" approval of e-cigs. I didn't think much of it at the time and we didn't even discuss it at all....I kinda just ignored it.

My DH and I had committed to quitting analogs "sometime this year". I'm going to be 45 next week. It's seriously time. On a whim I googled "electronic cigarettes" and the first article that came up was a review about the NJoy Kings. I thought, what the heck, I'll get us a couple and see what it was like. We both really liked it, but there was no way in hell I was paying $8.00 for ONE of those. So, I did more and more research and finally decided on the Smokeless Image Volt for both of us. Bought the kit w/a manual, an auto and the PCC. Started on that a few weeks back and continued smoking some analogs at the same time.

Last Wednesday I had to go on a business trip where smoking wouldn't be accessible....airports, hotel, conference room, etc. So, I didn't even bring any analogs with me. I've been analog free for a whopping EIGHT days. WOOT. DH is a few days behind me, but also doing very well. I know that's not alot to some, but I'm super proud of myself and have absolutely no intention of ever smoking an analog again. I do, however have every intention of expanding my new vaping hobby! :p

Ironically, my Mom doesn't even know yet....have had no discussion about it at all. I figure it'll be a nice Mother's Day present. :D

I started vaping nearly a year ago. We've all seen the adds and such but a bartender at my local American Legion hall was using one. He liked it and said "You should try them, at least I don't have to go outside". Going out in the winter really sucks so vaping seemed logical. Not to mention I had smoked nearly 40 years, and have asthma w/COPD.
What is said it true, things taste better, you feel better and now I feel better about myself. Analogs now are purely disgusting and it's funny, they taste just like they did when I first started all those years ago. How the hell do we wind up with that habit in the first place.

Wife bought me an NJoy kit from 7-11 back in 2010. This was when cartomizers first came out. I thought it was the stupidest thing I had ever seen. It tasted like ..., too.

End of 2011/beginning of 2012 I bought a SmartSmoke kit, mostly due to advertising. Flavor was okay, throat hit sucked and it is pricey as hell. Got more involved with it in October of last year and then I found this forum. The rest is history.

Though I still waste money on crappy products, as evidenced by the $35.00 I just spent on a kit and the only decent things in there are the 2 atomizers. But oh well.

Sitting at my bench, in the shop at work one day, when a mate dropped in for a chat he was sucking on this wierd small penal/rocket like shiny thing? As I was about to ask what is that, he blew out some smoke? Long story short I've wanted to quit for awhile but did enjoy smoking so it seemed a logical choice seeing as it was available and not at the cost I would have presumed.

So Vamo I mean Whamo here I am.

I had tried several times to quit but nothing else worked. Go Vape Go.

I owe my mate vintagerider his name in here, an ever lasting amount of gratitude. TY mate.

no problem mate glad to help and have a fellow vapor at work to pass the word along. vape on vape strong

but i have to give the credit to my wife and her girlfriend for introducing me to vaping

I had tried everything (except prescription meds -- I refused to try Chantix). Nothing worked.

A coworker who was a cancer survivor quit successfully with ecigs about four years ago under the advice and supervision of her doctor.

I finally decided to try them for myself. I first tried drug store ecigs, and they seemed to help, but I was still smoking one or two a day. Plus, I found out the brand I was using contained diacetyl pyrazine. So I got rid of those and ordered a cigalike with a PCC from an online vendor.

I told myself that when my kit came in, I was quitting completely. Sure enough, I smoked my very last cigarette as I was opening my just-delivered package. That was 50 days ago, and I haven't had a single craving since.

Started out with 24mg nic, since then I've cut down to 16 or 18mg nic. And I've upgraded my device.

Now, I notice I don't get short of breath as often as I used to, and I sleep better (when I'm not chain-vaping before bed!)

Just recently turned 22. Read somewhere that my lungs will have a better chance at healing by the time I'm 25. I figured I'd only get more addicted to cigarettes by then, so I decided to switch. Just my SI Volt Starter Kit today. There's also a huge money factor, so even if I don't quit, I hope to cut back a ton on cigarettes.

To address the second question first, simple - to quit smoking. I stay in it because it's effective, tasty, and involves shiny things.

First question, I knew a huge part of my addiction was the ritual of smoking; and without replacing the ritual as well as the nicotine, the other nicotine delivery systems (gum, patches, etc.) would never be effective. My fist e-cig was a Green Smoke, which did work to an extent, but failed to quit I believe because I lived with other indoor smokers. I since moved in with my sister who quit long ago and was encouraged to give it another shot. One of her friends had, compared to what I had seen up to that point, the fanciest looking e-cig I'd ever seen. I asked what kind it was (I think it was a Volcano Magma) and found a local retailer. I bought an Inferno kit and was more than pleased. Then I found out about all the other types available that blow the cig-a-likes out the water. From that point on I've been hooked.
