how do I check voltage drop/loss in a mech?

Another thing you MAY wish to consider is the battery itself. I know that's not your question, but the answers above are good for your question.

I assume you're messing with sub-ohm stuff since those are the main group of people that are worried about voltage drop on their mechs. When doing sub-ohm, the battery quality is even more important. Some batteries just sag in voltage when putting out a lot of amps. So it "looks" fine when measured with a multi-meter since there's very little amp draw.

Then there's cleaning of the battery contacts and battery so you get a good connection.

Also, check specs for safety. :)

A lot of this PITA stuff just goes away if you use higher ohm coils and/or maybe thinner wire (like 30 ga or even 32 ga). That's higher ohms and less of a problem. If you have good wicking you can still get a heck of a good vape.

Thanks for the replies. However im not intending to go sub ohm any time soon. I've used kanger protanks 1&2 @ 2.5 ohms, an aga t2@ 1.8ohms 3 different vivi novas in various resistance and a few others that produce little to no vapor on freshly charged 18650 protected and non protected batteries. All this gear rips on my zmax. Someone suggested I have a voltage loss somewhere in the device. Possibly in the power button. Just trying to trouble shoot since I've ruled out air flow as the possible culprit.

Well, huh. Bad guess :p

Usually the voltage drops are minimal and only apparent at the SLR vaping styles. Hmmmm. Yeah...check all contacts.

With the battery out, measure ohms at various points with the probe. Like the ohms of the button. The ohms at the connector.

Clean all connections/threads and contacts and remove oxidation. People are known to sand them, but I can't recommend that without specifics....I don't want to give you advice that could damage your mod.

Sometimes people put stuff on threads that makes the mod less conductive, so clean threads too.

But in particular...clean stuff. Battery too. Make sure it's making good contact and is a decent quality battery.
