How do I fix my Vision Spinner II?--I have to unscrew it a little for it to work.

I have two Vision Spinner II batteries that I rotate so that I can always have one charged and working with my Aerotank 2.

The first one I bought now has a strange problem...When I have it all screwed into the aerotank gently snug, it flashes several times in all colors every time I press the power. I figured out that if I unscrew it a little bit so that maybe a piece of paper or two could fit into the gap, it works fine.

My other battery works fine when everything is screwed in gently snug. I don't have to unscrew that one a little for it to work.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get the first battery to work when all the way screwed in. At least I can get a brand new one sealed in the box and shipped for $18 on Amazon.com. I'd prefer to just fix the one I have.

If this description of the problem is confusing, let me know and I'll add details.

It sounds like you may have put a topper on too tightly, and crushed the insulator between the center pin and the sides. So when you put your topper on you're causing a short.

Try this. Turn the battery OFF (probably 5 fast clicks.) Using a pin, straightened paper clip or similar, gently wiggle the center pin from several points around it, using the side of the fitting as the fulcrum. If you can raise the center pin about 1 mm, that's likely all you need.
