Well hey guys, I just started vaping last week. Got two orders of ejuices in. First batch was a sample pack of 50/50. After the first day of smoking the 50/50, my throat had a really scratchy feeling and I was in constant thirst. I was really annoying with this feeling and stopped vapping for 2 days. Throat became back to normal and started vaping ave 100% VG juices and the feeling I had few days earlier stopped? Is there a for sure way, to tell if i am sensitive to PG? Thanks for your input!

I'd say you already know the answer. When you use PG your throat got uncomfortable enough that you felt you need to stop vaping. When you use 100% VG you don't have the problem. You can try using PG again and see if the symptoms return. If they do, then I'd say you are proof positive.

Different people have different symptoms. Most all complain of horrible sore throat. Some also get additional symptoms like a rash, weird headache, nose bleeds, mouth ulcers, nausea, nightmares, depression and more.

I happen to be extremely sensitive to PG and had all of the above. What a horrid experience. Though, I tried it 3 times. Any amount of PG in my juice and I get adverse symptoms.

Try starting at 10% and go up from there if you are missing the throat hit. I used to vape 80% PG and slowly have been cutting my liquids down with VG to lower the nic. Now I am at 50/50 and I decided last week to add some more PG to increase the lost TH from all that VG and I woke up the next day feeling like I had sand in my throat. I went back to 50/50 and all is fine again. And to think I used to vape 80% PG and now I cannot handle 60%.

with eather PG or VG you need to drink plenty of water.
I had the scratchy throat to start with 100% PG but it went away after a week. Also with some of the flavors I get that. the thirst would be side effect. when you do search for allergies to PG nothing really solid comes up, some contact dermeral problems.
They used PG in injectables, breathing treatments, and lots of other things, its in cough meds and many many other common oral meds.

VG is the same way its found in lots and lots of things.

One of the big side effects because of the nature of the both of them is being thirsty. Solved by drinking plenty of water.

I'm curious Buggs, once you switched to all VG, did the mouth ulcers stop?

Yes. They took a while to heal. My gosh they were severe for me. I tested this 3 times on myself over a couple months. Trying to see if I could tolerate any PG. If I start using ejuice with PG, within hours, I will already start getting mouth ulcers.

This is a good thread w/good info. I've been cigarette free for almost 3 months now & doing ejuice for about 2 months. Hard to imagine vapers would need to do so much research!

I sure wish ecigs (and finding the right system) were an easier process, but luckily this forum exists to educate people.

This week I'm trying my 100%vg juices. After a week I'll substitute my 50/50 blends to see if anything changes. Initially I was getting light headaches from ecigs, but pretty sure I was overdosing on nicotine. Only time will tell.
