How do I put a shotcut in a post? Confused newb here.

I don't get how to put shortcuts to websites in a post. Then how in the world do you get a YouTube review like P Bsuardo's stuff to work?
How about a simple photo? Not a clue.
I've tried with no success & it drives me crazy.

Can someone help with this? I'm brain damaged. Really.

The little icons right above where you type...globe = link, pic = pic, filmstrip = video. for a link you can also just copy and paste the url and it will automatically create a link.

Thanks for the help Darkhood. I know there's a "Sandbox" to practice in but now I can't find it again. Any idea where I ran across that?
