Found a backup battery for me Ego, it's going to have to be tweeked tho, it won't "contact' with some of my cartos, but works ok on the atty's . . . I've read a time or two about raising the center contact post, or filing down the "skirt" . . . which is my best/easiest bet? I'm soooo not mechanical by nature, but hubby should be able to follow instructions . . .
thanks in advance . . .

Use a small thumbtack or needle. Gently pry the center contact of the battery, just a tiny amount, from the edge, then rotate the battery, slightly pry at a second point.
Only a little prying is needed.
I used to have to do this all the time, my cartos seemed to play hob with that center contact on Rivas :)

Filing the "skirt" will work also.

Yup. Did this with two madvapes batteries today - used a dremel tool and did both of them in less than a minute.

My tool of choice for raising posts in both batteries and atomizers is a dental pick - I've got one where I cut all the handle off the thing except for maybe two inches and it's pretty handy. Got tired of adjusting posts on the MV batteries so I ground down the skirt on the connector this morning - like I said it took all of a minute.
