hey all, i been vaping for a week or so now, but i did my research on alot of topics for like a month or 2, so i'm not really a new member...but there's one basic thing i can't figure out & i can't search the word 'dry' cuz its too short, how do i tell if my atomizer is too dry when i can't taste anything? is there any other way to tell, i wait until the liquid on the side of my cart starts to evaporate into little bubbles, i hope that'll do? any suggestions other than a 'burning or metallic taste' would really help...

A real good sign would be that the vapor is low to non-existent;)

Vapor production usually starts dropping before I taste any burnt taste.
well i knew about that...but i can't really tell the diff. between a low batt & low vapor from dryness hehe so i just end up recharging & adding another drop or 2 on the atty...:)

nvm...next time i'll just replace with a fresh battery & keep figuring it out from there...just wish there was a more effective way to tell...

The sound of the atty will also change when it's dry...give it another week though and your taste buds will be back - I've been vaping 2 weeks and tried a bunch of stuff again today that I found actually nauseating last week. All these fruit flavors I was going to put up for sale are now really tasty when just a week ago it tasted like i was vaping straight splenda!

You soon learn to gauge when it time to top up carts etc, or if dripping your thing you will need to drip 2 or 3 drops quite often especially with a 510!

Obviously if battery getting low you will suffer less vapour etc but again it something you will get used to very quickly!

You can search by the way for short words or a mix of short and long for example "how do i tell if my atomizer is too dry"

If you scroll down to the bottom left hand corner of any page you will see google custom search which allows short word search :)

I always thought the sound changed and you start having to draw harder to get the throat kick.

what kind of sound are we talking about?

Sort of a crackle and hiss. As it dries out you get less crackle. It's hard to quantify but once you start listening you'll know it when you hear it.
oh ok, i figured the crackle would get louder when dry, tx for clearing that up hehe...btw, my taste buds are starting to return, 1 thing is...am i supposed to taste the vapor? or is the taste only there when taking the drag? seems i get a hint of flavor when i'm taking the drag, but when i inhale & exhale, its all the same tasteless vapor :p

I know my 510 needs a few drops when flavor and vapor gets weaker and I start to get a bit of burnt taste. When it gets to that point, I can usually get another 10 drops into it. I should really top it off before it gets to that point.

You should be tasting the vaper on the inhale and exhale. What juice are you using?

i only drip lately...btw, more flavor is returning to my taste buds, but turns out it might also be a bad atty, not sure if that atty is just being inconsistent lately...something is off or missing here, i'll figure it out soon, gonna switch flavors & attys to compare...if anything, i'll know for sure when i buy some diff. juice later :)
