It's quite tricky with one pair of hands! You put the black (negative) probe to the outer thread on the atty connector, and the red (positive) probe to the centre post of the atty connector. It is important not to allow the probes to touch each other, or for either probe to create a short circuit (a direct connection between the positive and negative parts of the connector) which could damage the
mod.
Yes you need to activate the
mod by operating the switch, so it might be easier with two pairs of hands.
You set the dial on the meter to voltage (V) and if it's not an automatic ranging meter then you also have to select the voltage range. Note it should set to DC voltage and not AC voltage (AC can be indicated by a squiggly line, DC by two straight lines). Mine is not auto ranging and has the following ranges in the DC section - 200mV, 2000mV, 20V, 200v, 500v. To test an e-cig voltage I would set it to
20v - because the 2000mV setting is not high enough, and 200v is too high and gives too coarse a measurement.
