I love and I mean LOVE my VR tobaccos. They are the only tobaccos that I really did love. I have my gandy (I don't think I will ever refer to Legond as it's name, to me it iwll always be Gandalf) and gollum steeping. I am going to let them go at least a month. But when they are through with that whole thing what should I expect? Are HHV anything like VR tobaccos? How do they compare or stack up? What are the similarities and or differences?
How do Vermillion and HHV compare as far as tobaccos?

VR is one of the few I haven't tried yet, but I have some coming. I'm doubtful they'll be similar to HHV, I haven't found anyone yet very similar to HHV. That's not saying HHV's tobaccos are better or worse than anyone else, that's individual taste, but to me, love them or hate them, they're quite unique.
VR tobacco juices tend to be light, bright, and sweet. Gollum(Sludge) and Gandalf(Legend) are a little darker, earthy, and also a little sweet, but not as much as VR tobaccos. There is more contrast than there is comparison.

I did break into my HHV juices... refer to the HHV post. But I find what you said to be right on with VR accept that I get a richer fuller taste from VR them Gandalf. Gollum is a darker tasting juice and VERY sweet.
I think VR's and HHV's tobaccos are very different from one another. VR's are much sweeter and require a longer steep. HHV's are NETs, so you only get the extracted tobacco with whatever flavorings it contains. On the other hand, I believe VR uses a blend of NETs, TA, and added natural flavors.
Weird, I love VR straight out og the bottle. No need for steep time for me. Where as I can see HHV getting much better with a steep.
It's really weird. I usually steep my VR for the flavors to settle down, while I steep my HHV for the flavors to come out. They're totally different juices in that regard. Since you seem to really dig a full mouth flavor explosion, I can understand why you like VR straight out of the mailbox.

I think this is the case. And even tho they are I think Volton likes an extra steep for them to get more mellow. Which I can see some preferring.
All and All I would say the flavor profiles of VR and HHV to be very different. Which I did wonder because a lot of VR fans are also HHV fans.
I think to sum it up I would say if you are looking for a tabacco, ask yourself what you like in a tobacco. Do you like a sweet rich full flavor or a more subtle straight up tobacco with smokiness? If you like sweet VR is for you. If you like smokey HHV is for you.
What HHV tobaccos have a deep rich punch of sweetness to them? If they have one I would like to try it.

Todd, I believe you are correct. Vermillion has a set ratio of PG/VG and is bottled before ordered. Whereas vendors like HHV do custom mixing at time of order.
