I just recently got my first rba, a gg penelope, and I love it! I have been using the GG method of twisting the low resistance with the high and I have been getting some pretty great results. 3-4ish wraps of the 34ga kanthal seems to be giving me anywhere between 1.2 to 1.8 ohms. Im still
not really sure how to measure the wire's resistance before I install it, the meter just randomly jumps all over the place which tells me nothing more than that there is continuity.
Are there different/better ways to connect these wires other than this wrapping method? Also how do you guys figure out how much wire to use to get exactly the same ohm results every time, do you just measure and trust the manufacturers claimed resistance per foot?
