How do you decide?

So, I think I'm ready to ditch the analogs but I still am clueless on what to buy. I've received great information on this forum, but I think it's too much information. If you seasoned vets were starting from scratch, where would you turn?

I'm a 1 pack a day generic light 100's smoker. I don't want to spend a ton of money until I know this is going to work. I realize I will have to make an investment, but I need to wade in, not dive in. Do you buy American or Chinese? I've been on the suppliers forum, but I'm not sold on any of them.

I just need some real basic help! Thanks!

All the research fried my brain too but does pay off. The 2 most popular ecigs appear to be the d510 and the kr808d-1. The 510 seems to give big hit and vapor (never used 1). The kr8 provides ease of use and low maintenance. I would at least research both of these. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Once you find 1 you think you like then look at multiple vendors reviewed here. Don't take any single persons recomendation for a vendor as some have ties to a vendor.

Hiya the advice i got four weeks ago i will pass on to you...

for a beginner decide

do u want a 2piece(size of a long cig)(kr808d-1)
or a 3 piece(size of a long cig)(510 or 901 model)
does it HAVE to be the size of a real cig(m401...dont know other models?)

when you decide this(2 piece is easier but a lillll more expensive)you can go from there...]]next...for a starter not wanting to get in too deep with supplies id recommend....

2 batteries minimum
2 atomizers minimum(or 5 cartomizers if 2 piece option)
and at least 5 carts prefilled if 3 piece

Its EASY to refill carts so get at least 30ml liquid.this will keep you going for AT LEAST a week...i hope...or more

if u can on the site you choose(and do try to choose this)get a few samplers rather than one flavor.dont get all tobacco flavors either in case u like the other ones available better...

id advise getting one manual(use a switch to turn on) and one auto battery(just inhale but takes a few seconds to get vapor) to see which you like(i thot id hate manual but i much prefer it now...this cud be the difference in staying on ecigs or going back to real cigs!)

NOTE: the main difference between the 510 and the 901 and kr808d is

901: more flavor,less throat hit...similar vapor IMO
510: bigger throat hit, slightly less flavor and similar vapor IMO...these two are better if u want to spend least possible short and long term

2 piece: havent tried but a very similar ecig to these...better if u want to keep it simple

anything else i can help with just pm me...i have a 901 and 510 so i can answer questions on these 2 models...

as for suppliers i dont buy from US so i will leave it to others to advise...

chinas reputable sites that ive seen and used are:

eastmall.net
heavengifts(ive used these...very good quality products, great customer service)
healthcabin(have emailed them b4 with qustions...very helpful)

hope this helps

cass : o)

ps. let us know how u get on...

I hate to say this but most of us buy it all to try. I have been vaping about two weeks now and I have already shelled out 150 dollars

most dekang liquid to me tastes great and is affordable
and having tried 4-5 PV's I love my 510s for the price and stuff available

after trying the 801 though I really like that also

janty knows its stuff

I started out with 510s and still use them daily.
If you get genuine Joye 510 atomizers then they're pretty reliable. Cignot.com sells a $35 kit with 2 atomizers, 2 batteries, a charger and 5 cartridges. This is the least expensive way to go. I've bought maybe 8 of these kits for friends and family and have no complaints.

KR808 -- I have limited experience with this one, but my impression is that vapor amount is about the same, throat hit is stronger, and flavor is not quite as good as a 510 ecig. They are convenient when you're away from home since the cartomizers last a good while and are easy to change. They seem a bit less messy too.

I felt the same way last week while researching, this is a lot of info to absorb, I narrowed my choice to the 510 or the VK, as they seem to have the best reviews overall, My wife liked the idea of the auto battry so i went with VK, and all i can say is WOW., it's only been a couple days but I haven't smoked an analog since receiving package from V4L.

It depends where you are going to vape. If you use it at home where you always have the AC charger then you are OK without it but if you want to take it with you to work or just out for a while, the PCC will charge keep the extra battery charged and charge a spent one if you need to. I really like the USB Pass Through when I am at home which bypasses the batteries altogether.

Just rcvd my e-cig 2 days ago from Mr E Cigarette and I am so confused by all of this. First off it bothers by lips, tongue and gums. Have any of you had these same issues? Next, I do not know what model number this is. From reading a lot on here the model number seems to be very critical. How do I find out what model mine is?Are filled cartridges inter-changeable with all models? I watched the video on dropping the juice into the cartridge, but when I pull my cart off it doesn't have a hole, it is just where you fit it onto the atomizer. Then I read about people putting stuffing into the carts..where and how and why? I'm soooo confused.....I appreciate your tutorial but it still didn't answer all my questions. Thanks folks for being out there to help.

Well first we need to know who Mr E Cigarette is to try to find out what model it is? Most retailers use the standard models but without a picture it will be hard to figure out. What does it look like, is it 2 piece or 3 piece?

You should also start a new thread with this question in the New Members Forum and you will get more answers than posting in someone else's thread.

I would like to suggest that you start with the Janty eGo! Yes, it will cost you more than the 510 kit from cignot but I truely believe that it will save you tons in the long run! Here's why...
1.) I, like alot of people here, started with a 510. The battery life left a lot to be desired! I needed 2 and a half batteries just to make it through a work day. Then I found the "mega batteries" and they lasted a little longer. I could then get through the day on about 1 and a half batteries. So I stocked up on mega batteries. Now my costs have more than doubled over the starter kit!8-o I was not happy that I had to "charge up" and "change out" batteries all day. Then the eGo came out! I read reviews and asked people who had one. I had been looking at some other mods, that cost alot more. After people started reporting their battery life with the eGo I figured I needed to try it for myself. I'm sooo glad I did! I use ONE battery ALL DAY! And I do mean all day, from the time I get up in the morning untill I go to bed at night and then start all over again the next morning on the same battery! And my juices taste so much better with the eGo!
2.) The second area you will save money on is your juice. I use alot less juice with the eGo than I did on the 510!
I wish I had started with the eGo! When I think of the money I could have saved on all the extra batteries or spent instead on juice8-o Oh well....

Thanks all for your quick responses. I think I'm going with the 510 to start. Now, I'm bargain shopping. You guys are great.

Get the Joye 510 at cignot. There are some deals on 510 clones... but there have been some problems. The cignot $35 deal is the best for Joye stateside. Get some juice - Ecopure Rich would be a good choice as it is a good quality VG and gives great vapor. If you get above $59 there you'll get free shipping too. Get some low nic ejuice @8-12mg and one higher nic ejuice around 18-24mg so you can determine what level of nic you'll need to stay off cigs yet not too much. If you need to 'pad' the bill to get free shipping go with the three atomizers pack, or just get a bunch of different 3ml juices to sample. Just to give you an idea on tobacco flavors:

Well, I've only used 1 model so far. The Joye 510. And I totally LOVE it. It got me to quit analogs so I'm happy! Although i've not tried any others, I don't see how anyone could be too unhappy with the amount of vapor it produces. And I've always gotten a good throat hit with juices ranging from 24mg down to 6 mg. BUT you WILL have to recharge batteries a LOT!!! I don't mind this. I've got 5 batteries now and I just got a second wall charger (GREAT to have 2 now) and I don't know what I'd do without a PCC. I wish I had a passthrough. If you don't mind the poor battery life then the 510 is a good, inexpensive choice. Kits are available for as little as $35 dollars. Refilling cartridges was initially a little too frequent for my likeing, but with either the PTB or blue foam mod my carts hold way more juice so I don't have to top off nearly as often.

I've been vaping for almost a month. I did my research and went with the Vapor King. The Ult. kit comes with everything you need. I felt it was the "Best Bang" for the buck and it is. Great Customer Service too, which goes far for me!!

To me the Hiltons were a little harsh so with my second order I got the Tobacco Sampler and so far Loved the French Pipe and 555, will order these again. The ease of the kit is great, simple to use and the PCC is a must for on the go charging! The passthrough that you plug into the computer is a must for anyone that spends anytime at the computer. I like too that you can pick your color of batteries so it doesn't look like an analog, most people think it's a pen! Good Luck on whatever you choose to go with!!
