How do you feel about intros in video reviews?

  • They are a must have for any good reviewer!

  • They are are boring and causes me to lose interest!

  • They are very cheesy!

  • They are totally unnecessary!

  • I don't really care.

I could live without it(music). I would actually not mind so much if some of it didn't blast me into the neighbors house. Less is better sometimes. More mellow, not like I walked into a death metal concert, my son teaches guitar out of the house I get enough of that. MHO
I second that.If they would get the sound level to match the rest it might not be so bad,if it is not too long.

I enjoy a good intro if it is done well and concise and most of all if it works with the reviewer themselves and perhaps even informs a bit. But just about every one I have seen detracts from the actual review. Most have flashy flying fonts and graphics, are too long and have booming pulsing music that typically fades into (or uses some craptacular transition) the reviewer who has bad lighting, terrible shot composition and worst of all a bad mic. Most of the time the intro is 10x louder than the reviewer, if viewers can't hear you please don't bother talking, it's very frustrating to me. (Also, please learn to use your macro focus if you are going to get a close up - I don't love watching your pulsing focusing)

I like intros, but an hour long television program has a 30 second intro, so I hate it when a 3 to 10 minute YouTube video goes on for a full minute. Keep them at around 10 seconds and I'm happy, otherwise I usually move on. I believe there is some psychological study that says you have something like 7 seconds to capture a person's interest.
