How do you get machine oil out of mod?

Just got a stingray x from china & it works great. The only problem is the inner tube & threads are covered in black oil. So far I tried soap & hot water, rubbing alcohol and ketchup. It's better but still not clean. Any suggestions?

Try soaking it over night in alcohol. You can go to your local hardware store and get either brake cleaner or wd40 and hose it down with either of those. Just make sure to clean it thoroughly after. Run a rag through while cleaning to help pick up grease.

Thank you! I was just trying lemon juice & that worked surprisingly well. I'll let it soak in some rubbing alcohol overnight hopefully that will take care of what's left

Have you tried just hot water, dishwashing liquid (like Dawn or Palmolive) and a small stiff brush?

Katya probably has the easiest solution. Mines rather extreme... well except for the rag. Dish soap is made to break down grease so keep up with that and you should be good.

I do the dishes. Every night.

And I do teeth, also every night ! - seriously, try a small-headed toothbrush and toothpaste and give it a sparkle.
It gets up inside the mod and cleans it very well.

If you have an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner lying around use it with warm water and a little dishwashing soap.
