very concentrated wintergreen or teaberry can produce a very light cooling but the mint is still there unless you are using a more dominant primary flavoring (something very sweet or bitter acidic) I have been playing with the idea of a very faint eucalyptus but cant seem to shake the idea it might irritate sinus cavities a bit:( Anyone played with eucalyptus???

Bluemist vaping has a product called "the chill factor". Its designed to do what your talking about. Its used to make flavors like blueberry ice or strawberry ice with the cooling effect on the exhale according to them. I am going to order some, I have not tried it yet. Its only 4.00. I don't know whats in it and they don't say. Maybe someone with more experience knows??? let me know if this helps.

just order koolada from tpa....it is what you are looking for.

I ordered 4 oz of Koolada, now I just need to get the ratio down. I am attempting to develop a VG Nicotine base that has that cooling effect that I can add flavors to. I am wondering about ratio and how much steeping may be required.

My goal is to make icy fruit flavors that don't have that menthol taste.

After a few gazillion tests with the Koolada, I still can't seem to get it right. It's either overpowering epic throat hit that kinda tastes like menthol mixed with castor oil, or no cooling at all.

I am trying to duplicate "Hellavapors" Icy Lemon Drop and Berry Berry Cool. They use a proprietary base, and it is, for me, of the hundreds of juices I have tasted, the best I have ever had. They are totally reasonably priced, I however, am not reasonably wealthy.

I stretch my Social Security to the limit on medications, and I am a "Crazy Vapor" consuming around 8 to 10 30ml bottles a month.

I wish I could describe this juice. It tastes exactly like a lemon drop, a little sweet / sour, with just a touch of cooling on the exhale. It's that light cooling at the end that has me boggled.

I will keep trying...(I just bought 5 more bottles from Hellavapor). These are great people, with a great product, and I would gladly give them my money, because it's worth every penny, but I can't sacrifice my pain meds for it, Morphine is expensive.

Well I wonder is the stuff we were talking about earlier is different than the koolada? Chill factor right? I can't help any further my DIY experience is limited. I just got home from buying e juice something I also hate to do. It can get expensive. I bet if you tinker enough you may get a recipe you like even better. If it were easy everyone would be doing it and the juice vendors wouldnt be around. I would really love to find out whats in papa smurf but I know thats not going to happen anytime soon.

I had to go pull out my notebook but awhile back I read a thread discussing koolada, and unfortunately I cannot remember who posted it... but the general consensus was this person was spot on:

Koolada ratios (higher percentage makes it colder) as added to a mix:
2% for "cool"
4% for "cold"
6% for "icey"

My own personal notes... Koolada, like some other additives (such as menthol or malic acid (which gives that sour candy effect)) can, and will, ruin plastics and syringes. Use glass droppers and/or glass graduated cylinders or beakers for measuring it before adding to your liquid.

As always I reccomed glass bottles for liquids. Specialtybottle.com has been awesome. Good luck.
