I've been smoking for a good while now. About 16 years. I haven't ever had much motivation to quit, except now my GF hates it and is pushing me to stop. I still run pretty quickly and keep up just fine with non smokers when I'm hiking, so physically, I don't think smoking has taken much of a toll on me.

I've been vaping on and off for a few years, but I just go back to cigarettes for the convenience.

Yesterday I picked up an ipv Mini 2 70W and a Kanger Subtank Mini. I really like this setup. I don't see myself running out of power since I can charge it anywhere, and the juice lasts for a while so it isn't a pain to keep up with. Way better than my mech mods. I hope this gets me to quit or at least cut back by a lot.

One thing I foresee being an issue is that I'm pretty active and could see this setup getting destroyed while I'm out and about. Tomorrow for example I'm going for a pretty long hike, and then rappelling down some ~150ft cliffs. I also do a lot of other out door activities that aren't easy on anything that I have with me. I get muddy, my equipment that I carry gets scratched and banged up, my cigarettes get crushed...

The good thing about a pack of cigarettes is that they still work if you crush them and if you drop them you just pick them up and they are as good as new.

How do you outdoorsy people not destroy your mods?

It stays in the car. One guy brought his out last week to take pics and his screen got cracked twice.

I guess it really depends. I know pelican makes some pretty sturdy containers you could pack your mods in and out with. Depends on how lightly you travel I guess. You could always just pack a couple vuse or blu's to get you by if you don't want to take the time to protect your investment. Not flaming, just suggesting!

Certainly, those activities might cause trouble - but if you WANT to, you can get stuff that will withstand some abuse.
While I baby my gear, I happen to own 2 devices that I'm confident would still vape after banging against some rocks: a Provari and a Reo.
I tend to use a glass tank on the 'Vari, so that's the weak point. In fact, on either device, I think the atomizer/tank connection point is the only real risk - the body of either one could probably be used in a pinch to hammer in some pitons. Maybe just get a good carry case?

Pelican is a good idea. Not always practical for some occasions, but I could probably still make it work.

I haven't had any experience with this yet, but here's a few thoughts.

Get a case like the Otterbox 1000 series. We have a few at work. They are waterproof and crush proof. Add a little foam inside, and a small mod like an istick or istick mini and a tank could sit snugly inside protected.

Here's an e-bay link I found to show you what I'm talking about.
Otterbox 1000 Series Drybox Clear | eBay

and a link to some other stuff I found. REI

Hope this helps..

Happy Vaping :vapor:
