Hello everybody!

So now that I bought my first kit, I am getting to know more the techniques of the ecig and today I am asking you how do you refill your cartomizer?
I saw a lot of videos and some have different techniques so I was wondering if I was doing it correctly?
P.S. I have a Volt kit so let me know how many drops you put in this type of cartomizer.
I usually put around 10-15 drops in the carto all around the side (not in the middle) Is that good? I usually vape it right after so should I let it dry before?
Just let me know your best tips please and what do you do to keep the carto longer.

Thanks

The best advice I ever got was to make the top of the carto wet enough that it looks like a snowcone or slushy. No bubbles. Let it settle so that you know that the juice has saturated all of the poly. Blow through the end (not the battery side) to make sure that you do not have juice in the center.

Before getting a syringe, I used the condom method w/ taryn spin. You've probaby already seen the videos but it worked almost as good as a syringe. IMHO get a syringe it's just cleaner and easier and works w/ tanks if you decide to try them.

I do the condom method the first time I use a blank Carto. Then when It's time to refill, I drip 10 drops while spinning carto, let soak for a few minutes, then 10 more drops. Next, I shake carto (like a polaroid picture) over sink. Blow through the top and wipe bottom with a towel.

Edit: I do this with the Volt Cartos. I find it best to set the Carto on a paper towel. By doing this it's easy to see when you have put in enough(or more than enough) juice as it will soak the paper towel under the carto.

You will notice the vapour dropping off when it is time to refill. I just drip the juice in the top while turning it slowly, when 1 drop comes out the bottom its full. If you hear gurgelling there is some in the middle, i just hold the manual button for a few seconds and puff puff puff till its gone.

Edit ; to keep it wet at all times, just drip a few drops in every hour or so, i don't find this necessary, i can tell when it is comming to the end just by taste.

I use the condom method. Your method is fine, I think it just takes longer. What you can do to avoid leaking liquid is to put a condom partway on the battery end while filling, it also allows the carto to be upright while filling without having to hold it the whole time. It will catch all the drips, and you can just squeeze them back into carto when you need to top it off.

Another good idea is to get a drip tip for your volt. It makes adding a few drops a lot easier. Say you've been vaping for an hour, just pull off drip tip and add 7 drops or so. sometimes those rubber stoppers are a pain to get off. Just make sure to take carto off your volt first.

I use a syringe especially for the first fill. Its quick and just plain easy. Especially for bigger cartos, I use the Ressurectors. The condom method works well for smaller cartos but I dont find it works as well for bigger ones. A syringe makes it simple and its done quickly. I fill an empty Ressurector which holds over 2ml in under 10 seconds. You fill for the bottom so you know its filled correctly and its easy to know when its full bc the juice will come to the top of the polyfill and when it starts to become "slushy" its full. Then sometimes when Im just topping off I just drip into the top a few drops. I wouldnt drip in for a new carto tho. Its easy to burn it if you dont put enough or let it settle for long enough. I would at least do the condom method or use a syringe for the first fill. CCV gives a free syringe with all carto purchases and tht syringe is perfect for filling all cartos

This is how I fill and keep damp standard 1ml cartomizers like Boge 510 and most KR808D-1 cartos

I only use thin clear juices to get the best life out of each carto. I use PG w/ 20% or less VG and I acoid all dark/opaque/cloudy liquids that drop flavoring sediment because that stuff will gunk up coils and turn the stuffing to pudding. f I keep a carto damp so it doesn't singe and get bitter, I can run about 20ml of juice through a carto before I know it's degraded enough that I want a new one. For me that is about 7-10 days or more. nd since I alternate vaping 2 models that's 2-3 weeks for me.

What I do, based on how long my own cartos last, is I make the carto give me 7 days of use (which in my case is 2 weeks since I vape 2 each 1/2 the time). Then on the weekend I decide if the carto is working well enough to give me another week. If the drag is getting hard and it's not giving vapor easily, then on Sunday I fill up a new one, settle it on end and on each side, and then switch and I throw out the old one.

The carto has a 1ml capacity. You need to aim towards putting 1ml in. I hold a tissue on the threaded end hole (or put a carto cover's spike in the hole), tilt the carto and drip in 18 drops (waiting longer for the first few to soak in), Then I wait 15 seconds. Then I see how many more it will soak in easily (usually 3-6, occasionally more).

Then I clean it up - clean threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue and puff into threaded end to clear the air channel, then while still pointed down I just touch a soft bit of tissue to the top of the stuffing to sop up excess (to help prevent leaks).

Then I let the carto settle. I use juices with 20% or less VG so 15-20 minutes of laying it on different sides and on end is plenty of time for every bit of stuffing to get damp.

While vaping - any time the vapor seems light, dry, or tastes the tiniest bit off or loses flavor, or if the caro is getting abnormally warm, I add liquid. I also occasionally look at the stuffing (especially before putting a fresh battery on or before going out) and if the top of the stuffing looks white, I add some juice. No settle needed when just keeping the carto damp. And if you do not keep it damp or if you use juice that is too thick (too much VG) you will singe the carto and that adds a bitter taste. I use a simple plastic or delrin drip tip in place of the end cap so it is easy for me to remove that to look at the stuffing or add juice.
