Hey guys, we just recently got a starter kit for my other half from smokeless images ( Volt) and she really likes it, but my question to you is how often do you refill your cartomizers , and when do you actually throw it out and replace it with a brand new one? Thanks all...
P.S. you guys have been tons of help every time i posted in these forums so I just wanted to say thank you...

From what I have discovered it really depends on the cartomizer you are using... When I started vaping I was using the prefilled carts from Walmart on there Mistic brand e-cigs I found I could fill those 2 or 3 sometimes 4 times depending on the juice I was putting in them before they started to taste bad/burnt or noticed reduced vapor. Since then I have started using boge cartos and have been able to fill them several times before they lose vapor production. Again it will vary because not all juice is the same and can have different effects on the carto. I have also been able to clean a boge carto I have used for a week or so and be able to use it for another 2 or 3 days. I have read on here also that Thicker juices and darker juices are harder on cartos. And also depending on the flavoring harder or impossible to remove the flavor from the carto even after cleaning Like Cinnamon Mints(Menthol) And probably some other flavors.

And I do not consider my self a pro and I am sure others will also come along and give you there opinions too.

And Gratz to your other half for putting the stinkies out of her life :)

I take a bottle of liquid with me and always top off my cartos. Every 10-15 puffs or so.

Keeping them topped off is key to not having filler burn.

5 days and I toss them. As soon as there is any hint of burnt filler in the trash it goes. To me its not worth inhaling burnt filler.

It just cant be good for you.

Im finally giving up on cartomizers entirely... between burning them (just got a twist and playing with higher voltages) or wasting them on juices that I didnt like... Then it was always a crapshoot if the carto will even work after cleaning it... dont dry it out enough after cleaning and they taste nasty... dry it out too much and they dont absorb right and burn... and of course you dont know it until you fill it up with juice and try it!!!
I cant even begin to imagine how much juice Ive wasted on trying to bring a carto back to life... Your best bet with cartos is to just keep topping it off until it stops performing as it should then throw it out! It may seem like a waste, but its more cost effective (at least imho) to ditch the carto rather than waste juice...
I had some cheap clearos that came with a really cheap 510 kit I had bought, they vape great and clean pretty easy (depending on what flavors Im changing between) but they seem to get a plasticy taste to them that just really ruins it for me...
So now I have some CE3's on order and they will hopefully be the right combination for me and even though I havent even tried them out myself yet, Im going to recommend you try them out as well...
You may even want to try out some other clearomizers or tanks, but when your first starting out, the last thing you want to do is spend a ton of money trying new things and the CE3's look like they clean easy for trying new flavors (no wasting cartos on flavors you didnt like) and can be used with different drip tips (I think the plasticy taste I was getting was mostly from the mouthpiece), plus you get the benefit of being able to see how much juice is left, and when it does die, you can simply pour out your liquid and use it in a new one...
The only real downside is that they can be a little bit of a pain to fill and will leak if not done properly... but with a little patience should not be a problem...
Different vendors have different variations with different names, but since youve already been dealing with SI, that makes it pretty easy since they carry them :D
Oh and heres a link to Outlaw Vapers youtube video on the ce3's that will give you a much better lesson on them than I ever could...

Good luck and hope this helps!

i just top them off all the time. have yet to use one up but im alternating between a bunch and always topping them off so i really don't know. if you were to exclusive use one, fill it up completely and use it up completely before refilling, i would guess probably five times. if you were to exclusively use one and constantly top it off, probably two days of use then throw it away. but both of those are a guess since i've yet to consider any to be burnt up.

Same here. I top off in the morning then right before I leave work. Both home and work have a bottle of e-juice.

I've noticed something, I think, from using cartos in a tank. I go thru a good 6ml a day, just at work. I think if your juice is darker colored, the "color particles" will sit just at the level of the coils, and below, they never seem to wick all the way up to the top of the carto for me. I think that's what produces some of the burning/tighter draw, is that those particles don't vaporize.

A tank will never wick all the way to the top. At least mine never do.

Of course I'm a right wing nut job.....I believe in personal responsibility, NOT government responsibility...:)

At first I was doing a rotation filling 4-5 cartos for the day but then it was harder to keep track of the good ones etc... SO I switched to using only 1 and carrying a small bottle to fill it up during the day. I switch to a new one when it starts to taste off (around 3 days). But I'm mostly done using cartos in favor of Vision clearomizers and Vivi nova, witch always taste great and cost way more in the long run.
