How do you rinse carts?

It's as simple as it sounds. Take off the white end cap and clear rubber washer. Run the carto under hot water, periodically blowing the water all the way out. I blow from the mouth end out the battery end. I just keep rinsing like that until I no longer smell the juice or just barely smell it. When finished give it some good blows and it will be practically dry, dab the excess water off the outside. I then refill right away.

Happy vaping!

I use the method above for a quick rinse, but if I want to do a thorough cleaning, like if they've been used a few times or if I'm changing flavors. Many I've had have lasted for 2 months so far and still going strong. I keep a glass half full of vodka on my sink and if I get a bad taste or am done with a carto I just drop it in and let it soak, sometimes several days. When maybe 5 or 10 have built up I rinse them under hot water and blow the excess water out through the bottom (battery end), maybe 3-4 times. I then let them sit over night to completely dry, then you have completely clean cartos to refill, most will take 30+ drops and work all day, then I just repeat. In two months I've only thrown out 3, 2 would no longer give any vapor, I think the hair-like filament that heats up had broken, and the last one I overheated, the fill got so shriveled, brown and melted it would no longer take liquid, plus it tasted bad.
I know many will consider this a bit too much, but on a tight budget this has saved me a lot of money.
Just two last things, I top them off frequently to keep them from getting burnt, the obviously brown burnt cotton you might see looking down into the carto. And last, I tried to find the thread that explains it, but I use the centrifugal method to refill. Basically, fill the carto, put the caps on, put it into a battery bag and swing in a circle to force the juice to the bottom, then top off. This lets you pack a lot more juice into them.
Sorry to be long winded, heh, but it works for me. :)

Oops, now after writing that I wonder if you were referring to cartomizers or regular carts... my bad...

Since this is the KR808 thread, I would have to guess cartomizers (not carts) are what's being discussed)

I've been removing the plastic/rubber caps, and soaking mine overnight in vodka, in a little tin tub that came with my Johnson Creek Juice sample pack. I shake it up occasionally to let the vodka rinse through a bit more thoroughly.

After the overnight soak, I run the tub under the hot water stream for a little bit, shake the tin some more, repeat a couple times, then blow each cart out from the mouthpiece end.

Then, to accelerate the drying process, i put the cartomizers back in the tin, set the oven to a low heat (150 degrees) and let them sit in there for about 30 minutes to facilitate the drying process.

Finally, to re fill, I've been using a 3ml 20 gauge syringe. I have been having a few problems with overfilling and flooding the atomizer, so I might try the spinning method mentioned above and see if that helps.

Thanks everyone! I was speaking about cartomizers, right! I´m sick of the atomizer cleaning, cartridge switching... I think these are the natural evolution!

I don´t intend to use them more than a week, but if this works I mean it´ll cost me less than buying a new atomizer every month! I´m on a tight budget myself too...

By the time you invest in the vodka and consider the cost of boiling and rinsing with water, are you actually saving anything?
The vodka step is definitely optional--I don't use those methods so all it costs me is tap water and air blown from my lungs (both of which I'm "paying for" already ) and I'm getting the same results...and saving money on pre-filled cartos!

not sure but I really don't think its neccessary to clean out the cartomizer... I think sometimes the carto users are trying to jump into the 3pc "league" and its in a "league" of its own... meaning

doing all of these "tricks" cleaning, spinning, looking for different fill ends up defeating the purpose of utilizing cartomizers.... refilling is about all that you need to do(and if you choose you don't even need to do that)

PROPER use is all you need... top-off and don't let the carto get dry should prolong the life... but really if you refill it only 3 times and toss you are already ahead of the game so if you get 10-20 refills...put that carto to rest... I mean really how many of you have only one pack of 5 cartos?

I intend to get as much milage as I can get out of cartomizers... I´m sick of my 901 atomizers that last me only a month... And getting 5 cartomizers for the price of just 1 atty is in my league... If they become clogged or stop vaping I just throw them away... I intend to try different flavors on different cartos, so when I´m through with the flavor and the cartomizer still holds, rinse and try another flavor before opening a new one...
