I've been making some repairable ce2s and I'm using the woven silica rope from mcmaster. It's awesome as a wick but I can't seem to get the weave bends out of it. Also, is there any way to twist the silica threads in a way that it stays twisted?
Soak it in PGA overnight to get rid of sizing (should do that anyway to remove any chemicals since it's made to be rope), pull it straight and let it dry on a paper towel and the kinks go away.
If you put a little PG or VG on them they should stay relatively twisted.
