Coming from the cigarette world (like most everybody here I suppose), I find it helpful to count in "cigarette-equivalents" vaped. That is, when I "light one up", I make sure I'm in a nice environment, with a coffee in front of me and/or with friends to have a break with around, turn on the e-cig, vape 10 puffs (one cigarette) and turn it off. Then the next "cigarette-equivalent" happens whenever I'd smoke another regular cigarette, not before. If I reach 15 "cigarette-equivalents" (150 puffs), then I'm done for the day.
Otherwise, I find I'm sucking on my e-cig all day long, all the time. It's inconvenient because
1/ I'm chained to my e-cig throughout the day
2/ I vape a lot more than I'd like, and go through tank after tank
3/ I go to bed with a heaviness in my chest, from having vaped so much, that I'd rather do without
4/ I can't keep track of how much I vaped
5/ Better for the health though vaping may be, it's still an addiction, and I'd like to fancy myself in control of my addictions
What's your vaping regimen?
