Just bought an elite 808 and I want to know if i made a mistake and if not, what are the best cartos and tanks for it besides what they(easy cig) sells?

I have several CigEasy Elite batteries that a friend gave me. I like them...even though they are manuals. They last pretty good...about 3 hours for me, but I'm a very heavy chain vaper. Charge fast. I haven't tried anything on them but the Elite cartomizers...but I really like those and even use them on my other KR808 equipment. I don't think they are a "mistake"...they are very nice and closer to cigarette size than my big boys like the Kanger vGo, X2, Echos or eGos! Nicer for some situations...like stealth...ya know? 
Most 808 cartos will fit it and work fine. It just doesn't have the form factor when you use the smaller ones. The cartos that come with it are ok and although I've only had one, the clear and easy tank worked great. It's elegant and works fine. I take it with me as a Sunday go to meeting device lol. Their 555 liquid is to die for. The only reason I don't buy more from them is their shipping is a little stiff. You definitely didn't make a mistake. You should enjoy it.
It is not a bad kit, you didn't make a mistake. It's a decent price for what you get in the kit.
As far as what you an use, anything that smokeless Image sells will work on it. I have several videos on smokeless image products on YouTube and everything dicussed will work on you kit. Feel free to check them out.
