Here's a issue I came across today..

I wear coveralls at work with a pen pocket on the breast. It's absolutely the perfect size for my 510 but today a couple times when I pulled it out the e liquid had partially drained into the battery top and around the outside of the atty-battery seam. (thankfully it's a manual) It may have been slightly overfilled but I'm thinking it's more that it was in that vertical position, mouthpiece up.

Isn't it optimal to keep the mouthpiece up so the wick over the coil stays wet or are you better off storing it mouthpiece down and simply holding it tip up for a moment before you vape. The only reason I ask is I'll constantly steal little pulls all throughout the day and it would be a pita to have to pull it out and invert it for a moment every time I want a single pull. Maybe I'll have to find a pocket I can put it in horizontally but that pen pocket fits like it was made exclusively for my 510 and it's in such a handy location for quick drags.

No matter what you do with a regular type atomizer like the 510/901/801 etc. the fact is that you gonna get juice on something be it your fingers, pocket, or worse your tounge. Some leak worse than others and personally i find they leak more in this order (listed from leaks most to leaks least) and this is not a complete list for sure but some of the most popular.
901 (the damn vent hole makes for consistant draws across batteries but sho do leak)
306 (produces great vapor but holds about a dram of liquid, best for dipping IMO)
510 (moderate leakage but vent slots at connector allow some to get out. Also small wick surface so atty doesnt hold much)
801/302 (larger wick holds more fluid but will still leak since cartridge is designed to allow fluid to seep out and down to the wick)

I keep a paper towel folded in my shirt pocket (kinda like a paper pocket protector) and change it out when it gets goopy. Don't overfill your carts (they should look like a slushy when full, not a pool) and don't use a 510 cart too long without replacing the fluval (stuffing) as it tends to get compacted down and loose contact with the bridge in the atty. This can cause you to have to top off the cart too often and keep it too wet. At lunch, blow the atty out into a napkin and start fresh.

I carry mine - mouthpiece up.

I suspect you slightly overfilled and some juice leaked out.

At night I take my atty off my batt and let the atty sit Thread End UP for overnight. I place it on a tissue on my desk. That gives the atty a chance to drain / clear itself overnight. Then in the morning, pop it back on, add a couple drops of juice to the atty and it's ready to go for another day.

That's what I do.
Hope this helps
Happy Vaping,

Paula

I already have a nice old school style cigarette case my brother gave me several years ago that the 510 fits in but the point is I don't really want that in my pocket all day. I already carry several tools, my DroidX, and headphones and want to minimize what else is in my pockets. One of the initial reasons for the PV purchase was being able to vape anywhere instead of waiting for breaks to grab my smokes from my lunchbox.

Thought about that John but there's no real way to know. :p Not likely though as it's pretty rare that something would be pressing against my chest during the day. Hmm.... Maybe I should give more hugs to my coworkers...

I think I'll try packing it with the LED end up a couple days and see how that works out.

Well It wasn't the button getting pressed and not necessarily overfilling. It's that I filled my carts, immediately put them on, then put the PVs in my breast pouch tip up. This made just enough excess fluid to come out of the air intakes. Slightly underfilling the carts or simply vaping on them a minute made it stop. One less cause of getting liquid on my fingers and/or mouth. Damn growing pains...
