How do you rest your pv?

I notice it takes a few moments to get a good vape when my pv has been in a horizontal position like on my desktop. Much faster vape when I stand it up with the cartridge end up (stands to reason with gravity being what it is:)).
Any reason not to rest my pv in a vertical position? Do cartridges commonly leak like this or will it tend to flood the atty?

Shouldn't flood it - but you never can tell :)
A lot of people use an old cup, a drinking glass, an old ashtray, a pen holder, a desk tidy, - they all work - I just throw mine on a paper towel on my desk. They don't leak so far - BUT if I have an atty on its own on the desk (on the paper towel) it leaks. SO...YMMV.

Edit: I should add I dont use filled carts - I drip.

Not an issue for me since I swapped the original cart filler for the blue foam mod. Do a search for "blue foam" or "BFM" for details. The mods that use the least filler work like a champ at keeping the atomizer nice and wet no matter which way you rest it.

The key to these type of mods is not to overfill (to prevent leakage).
Thats good to know. I just bought a packet of the Marine Land foam from petco 2 days ago as per instructions on ECF. I have not filled any carts with it yet, but will soon.

Like others have said, I keep mine sitting cart side up in a cup on my desk. I do sometimes get a bit of leakage, but it's no biggie. I try to take them apart and blow them out and all that jazz if not nightly (sometimes I end up going to bed unexpectedly when a kid calls LOL) then every couple of nights. If I get a little flooding I just blow my atty out. I think I actually get better use and less leaking with them upright rather than horiz.
