How Does Zero Nicotine Affect "Flavor"?

My first (desperate) post.

I do 50/50 French Vanilla ZERO mg. I hate it. I am coming from 18mg to zero because I am having elective surgery and cannot have any nicotine at all in my system or they wont do it. :(

I miss my yummy vape!

Can ANYONE recommend a vape flavor that will give a throat hit but not taste like poo? I am a non-stop french vanilla person, and my lips are pretty much burnt from vaping such long-hard hits that the plastic on my drip tip gets so hot that it burns my lips. And i STILL cant get a throat hit. Even with a VV batt cranked up.

This sucks so bad - I cant wait till Mid-May when I can vape my yummy 18mg again. *weeping like a crybaby*

Thanks for any info anyone can supply :)

Try switching to 90/10 or 80/20 PG/VG, peppermint or strong menthol or cinnamon, and up your wattage.

Good luck with your surgery.

Thank you so much :)

Can I use Lorann Peppermint Oil? I just bought some of that (to kill spiders) and was thinking about putting a drop in ... ughh idk. .I know that the surgeons are trying to do good and all, but they should distinguish between tobacco use and nicotine use. :(

I guess you can use it short-term, It's very strong so proceed with caution. However, Lorann "Contains: Natural peppermint oil. Insoluble in water," per their website, and those are not recommended for vaping. TPA peppermint has water soluble flavoring.

I will have to find some water soluble flavors for Lorann (they sell it in the store close to my house - quick fix lol) -- Thank you lots for your help :)

I would also talk to your docs. I don't understand why they can't let you have a patch or use nicotine gum. It's done routinely in hospitals. Especially since your surgery is mid-May? That makes no sense to me.

I tried to reason with them about it. They do not allow patches or the like either (according to them) because they are vasoconstrictors (apparently nicotine constricts blood vessels). I guess I should be happy that she is concerned about it but I guess my irritable nicotine-less brain is agitated lol.

I'm counting the days...

Yes, nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, but it also leaves your body in a matter of days, especially if you're not a heavy smoker.

That said, I'm not a MD and I do not advise you to ignore your doctors orders. Do the best you can. Try peppermint, a drop of vodka, more PG or higher wattage (if that's feasible).

This might be your opportunity to get your brain system used to no nicotine and actually be able to pick up a .06 nic or even less and be just as happy after a month. Blessing in disguise!

I am wondering this myself. I DIY and if I go based on the percentage of flavor that the majority of people use, it almost never comes out right. I understand that everyone has different taste buds but SOMEONE should share a similar palette to me, right? So that leads me to believe that the nicotine must effect the flavor in some way. Either that or I just am really weird. (which is entirely possible)

I have tried 2 of the liquids I typically order in 0-nicotine, and I've only ordered 24mg for myself so far. I don't know about flavor, but 0-nicotine felt like nothing was going into my lungs. Then, a huge cloud comes pummeling out of my mouth and nose. I've said it before that I think air feels harsher than 0-nicotine liquid, but I was vaping for a few months before I got my girlfriend some liquid for her preggers self. So I just had to try it. It feels a lot cooler, more reflective on the temperature exhaled on my normal levels. I didn't notice a difference in flavor though. Some vendors don't use completely flavorless and odorless nicotine though.
