i thought i needed 18mg, i usually vape 12
i cant vape it.
it burns my throat in a peppery way and makes me feel like i have a lump in the back of my throat.

i have some samples with zero nic. can't vape it.
no throat hit and the taste feels funny on the inhale.

the actual flavoring seems to be the same.
my coconut cookies tastes good, but i can't vape it

nicotine gives quite a bit of "throat hit", that sort of spicy feeling in your mouth and throat. the more nicotine used in the e-liquid the stronger throat hit.
nicotine also has some flavor, depended on how oxidized it is. fresh nicotine have very little flavor but the more it has been exposed to air and heat the more "flavor" it will have. the flavor is a bit tricky to describe, to me its a woody / earthy, musky pepper zest and the flavor does not last for more than 30 seconds.

When I ordered my vaporizer I also ordered my first 2 bottles of e-liquid and I chose 36 because it was the highest and I thought that would be best since I was trying to quit after a looooong time smoking.

I have since bought other strengths ranging from 12-18 as well as some 0 nicotine liquid to cut the 36.

The 36 is STRONG and makes me cough every time. I still get a good throat hit from the 12. I do think it was good to start with such a high level because I put my analogs down as soon as I took my first vape and haven't touched them since.

You'll also find that the higher the level of nicotine, the darker your liquid will get over time as the nicotine oxidizes. Also like the others have said, you get that "peppery" taste.

I know what everyone is saying is what I have seen all over. For me I haven't noticed much of a difference in tast between the 12, 18 and 24mg I have used. When trying to get off analogs 12 and 18 didnt to it for me at all. Im still on mostly 24 and just ordered more but planning on dropping to 18 on my next order and hopefully step it down a notch each time till im at something like 6mg.

My experience may be because I favor sweet or hot flavors that mask yhe nicotine flavor.

I started out at 18mg. It was too strong. It hurt my throat and made me cough. So I went to 12 for a while. It was still a bit strong for me. 6mg seems to be perfect for me. I was a pack and a half a day smoker of marlboros too. Vaping is way different than smoking. You can't really gage nicotine mg in vaping in comparison to smoking cigarettes.

My husband Vapes 18mg and he gets me to taste his flavors from time to time. It gags me and kills my throat every time. So there is a huge difference if you ask me.

I totally agree that the higher the nic in mg the darker the color gets.

Hmmm I was wondering does nicotine affect throat hit/ flavour of the e juice? I've been told a lot of different things by fellow vapers and I just don't know which is true.

Nicotine definitely affects the throat hit, no doubt about it.

As to the flavor, I'll start by saying that I don't think I have a very refined palette. I'm a meat and potatoes kinda guy.

BUT.

With some e-liquids from some vendors, it seems that the nicotine hit stands out like a sore thumb. It's almost a separate experience from the flavor of the e-liquid.

With others, it seems that the ingredients used combine to make the nicotine thump a smoothly blended part of the overall experience.

I am a no nic vaper, never smoked. I can tell you how nicotine affects me.....if there is even the smallest amount in my juice and it hits my throat (I mouth vape only for the most part, so I can keep it from doing that), Pow! Coughing. Even 4-6mg, cannot handle it on my throat. So IMO, throat hit is really affected by nicotine content, at least from my limited experience.

My:2c:..Nic definitely adds more throat hit. But, so does more PG and certain flavorings. For example, if I was vaping a 80/20 (PG/VG) and STRONG flavor and 6mg of nic, it still might be too harsh. I recommend starting with a flavor and PG/VG mix you like and moving up and down the nic level to see what works. If you want to cut down on that nic, wean yourself from that level you started from. Peace.

My unit: ego900mah and mini evod 1.8 ohm. Winboro Lights (14mg) Koolport Ice (14mg) Vape on!

P.S. Great question by the way!:thumb:

I started out with 30mg nicotine when I was quitting smoking, and it made a huge difference in my efforts to quit.
However, I believe it is now too strong for me. The first few hits I took were horrible, and even though I can
vape on it continuously now, it still hits really hard.

As far as flavor changing, I have gone down to 24mg, and I have tried some of my buddies 18mg and 16mg and
have yet to notice a flavor difference caused by nicotine. That being said, pg/vg will drastically change your flavor
when you start changing out those levels, such as going from 50/50 to 20/80 pg/vg.
