what all does ↑ that do-hickey measure, now, DZ?

Voltage for checking batteries.

1S 6S RC LiPo Battery Voltage Test Tester Checker Indicator 2 8V 25 2V G6 | eBay

The vendor I purchased doesn't have any listed individually anymore though, only bulk but the above listing is cheaper.

fasttech has a different version offered in different display colors, no heatshrink though if it matters.

$2.70 0.36" Display 3-Digit 3.2~30V Voltage Tester for 18650 Battery - blue LED at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

There's a bunch of different versions, I saw a bunch at an RC car show I went to not too long ago. Should all be available on ebay.

So I am looking at getting a new mech. I want something that hits pretty good. I've thought about a reo for a while but not having tried one makes the unknown a little tough to drop the cash. So how does the reo compare to other mechs besides being a bottom feeder.

I just did a side by side in a thread labeled "mano y mano" which I also had to update due to my own errors on REO which I also blog'd.

Short version. Up against a Chi w/ Trident both running at .4Ω's The REO came out on top.

The only issue w/ the REO's are you won't use another mod after it. Even if you do you'll still end up w/ the REO as your daily driver.

This is compared to Provari's and other tube steaks.

If for some reason you don't like how it hits not to sound rude you did it wrong. Trust me I've done it wrong and I've been tinkering around w/ these things for a few months pretty hardcore.

There are some mod's pdib and a few others have done which just put this thing out there in terms of performance. I only vape subΩ as well. Currently running a .4Ω 26gauge dual coil setup.

Doohickey's a handy little name as well;)

with the way it's been explained in this thread, i now realize i really, really need a doohickey. hello, ebay...

No you don't as I didn't......but then again I don't "need" any of my Reos either.

These modules can read up to 25V but keep in mind that it must be wired properly for different voltage ranges. If wired in for 1S (1 cell) be sure to measure only 1 cell. For different voltage ranges it must be wired for 2S (series), 3S, 4S, & so forth. Don't ask me how I know. When I built my first one I was being stupid & started measuring everything (cognac's fault). I did measure up to 14V wired for 1S (just lucky probably) but after that it fried. Good thing I bought a bunch of them anyway.

thanks, DZ!

in spite of being the village idiot, i actually do know a thing or two about all this 'lectronix stuff...

plus, i'm ultra-conservative by nature. for example, i just received this amazing jig thingy today and so far i've just stared at, drooled over, and thought about it. can't wait to use it tomorrow when i'm fresh :)

Legend has it that long ago the Philistines encamped around Judea and a 10 foot giant named Goliath challenged any of King Saul's army to one on one combat. Young David just a boy at the time stepped up and accepted the challenge. He bent by the stream and selected 5 smooth REOs (for he heard that Goliath had 4 brothers). David placed the shiny smooth REO in his sling and charged toward Goliath. He let loose and the REO flew at great speed toward Goliath. David's aim was true and the Reo struck Goliath in the forehead embedding itself, and he fell to his knees...

Go ask Goliath how hard the REO hits. It's Biblical.

It slays giants.
