I guess necessity is the mother of copying invention.
I have only been vaping since 2/4/10 but have fallen head first into this activity. Like many, I first got a crappy kit that barely worked, then a 901 kit, got frustrated with the batteries and ordered a 905.
I had to send the 905 back after 3 days of use because it kept melting down and burning out attys.
With my only mod off in transit somewhere I was left with only my 901s and everything (attys, batts) were past their prime. Could only get a wisp of vapor.
As I became more and more frustrated I started thinking about Nicowolfs step by step post on the Nicostick and thought, hey what do I have to lose, $5.00?
So I ran out to a Radio Shack and got a batt. box ($1.69) and N.O. switch ($2.69). (I'm not counting the $7.00 soldering iron).
I've never held a soldering iron before but in less than an hour my first Nicostick was working!
This is kinda fun:)
So, thank you to Nicowolf! If you would have never gone to the trouble to make that post I would have suffered several more days of frustration and never known that I could use a soldering iron.
Cheers to all, Mark

It's always good to hear that someone else has at least attempted to make their own NicoStick and had success, especially someone who says they've never held/used a soldering iron before. I'm guessing you are using 14500 rechargeable batteries and now you can expect at least 6-8 hours or more of non-stop vaping.

Good work!

Welcome to the club but you're going to find it doesn't end there. Now you're hooked :)

You will be looking at everything with a moding eye and whenever you look at anything, you will say, "hey, that would make a great mod". I mean everything.

It's a curse but it's fun :)

Yeah, it's a quick hook. I was just looking for a thread on a high volt box mod lol. I'm not confident enough in my soldering to attempt messin' with a cuircut board or anything.

I have only thought about making mods and I am already looking at everything wondering, would that make a good mod?? I just have not taken the plunge to actually put something together yet, as I am still trying to completely understand what I will need to do before I attempt it. I got the soldering iron, some battery connectors, led bulbs, and have been researching, but have yet to attempt anything. I will have to look into the Nicostick thread to see what I can learn there...

Congrats on your first mod!

Congrats on the Nicostick.......and I did look at that website........awesome work.

I love the Wedding Bed........too bad all my children are married otherwise I would have thought about buying it.

Yes, I have also thought about a wood box mod........I am a hobby carver.....mostly ducks....so yes, it has crossed my mind......maybe some basswood........or some balsa covered with some laminate.

Yea just what I need, a more flammable case! Just kidding, I haven't had any mods burst into flames. Yet.

I'm going to list my mods one day when I'm on my computer. I have done just about everything but wire something directly into a 115v socket, be I'd be lyin if I said I didn't think of it. I actually got told not to bring one of my mods to work anymore by my boss, not because it was an electronic cigarette and I use it indoors, but because it looks like some sort of detonator.

On that note, I need to find some sort of toy pistol that has an internal battery. I would love to see the look on my bosses face when I put the barrel in my mouth and take a puff.

Also don't ever use a toggle style flashlight switch for a 2000mah battery mod, even if its all you have laying around. I now have a 510 atomizer that has survived 4 or 5 long dry burns, one of which was at least two minutes long. This atty is a friggin champ though, no bad taste and still pretty decent vape.
