How important are the 2 o-rings on a new Kanger coil?

So my new subtank mini arrived today with a 0.5 coil already fitted.

I removed it as i want to use the 1.2 but the 1.2 would just not sit right and I couldn't get the bottom of the tank to fit snuggly without a tiny gap where i'm sure liquid would leak.

I took both of the 2 clear o-rings off the 1.2 coil and now it fits better and I can get the bottom of the tank a bit tighter and I'm less worried about leakage but have yet to fill up fir the first time.

Will removing the 2 o-rings cause and problems?

Has anybody else had issues getting the bottom part of the subtank mini to screw back nicely when re-filling?

Thanks

Adam

Don't know about the new SSOCC coils, but the older OCC coils have only one O-ring at the thread base of the coil. I would NOT remove it - it forms the seal to prevent juice from leaking into the air intake chamber. They also have the insulator on the base of the coil where it contacts the 510 center pin, which on my OCC coils is red, which again should not be removed.

With my STM, it seems that there isn't a lot of thread purchase between the coil and base, and it needs to be tightened up fairly firm to stay put. I don't have any issue with the tank glass fitting to the O-ring in the tank base.

You might check the 0.5 coil you pulled out and make sure that the O-ring from it didn't stick to the tank base and went on to the 1.2 when you tried fitting it..

When I received my new subtank mini it had the .5 coil already installed. I immediately pulled it out because I was planning on using the 1.2 coil. When I tried to install the 1.2 coil it would not seat well. When I pulled it out I noticed that it had 2 o-rings. I pulled the .5 coil back out of the box to see it also had 2 o-rings and it didn't have any. What had happened was that the o-ring from the .5 coil got stuck in the base when I removed the coil and then it loosened up and stayed on the 1.2 coil.

I am guessing that the same thing happened to you. Check to see if your .5 coil has any o-rings.

Hope that helps.

Am I the only one not sure of what orings are being talked about. Can you post a picture?

The o-Rings I am taking about are the clear ones between the square section of the RBA and the threads in the image below.

Bottom o-ring just above the threads isolate juice from getting down into the airflow, if it doesn't leak great, but if one day it starts leaking you may want to put it back on and check again.

The very bottom ring you see isn't an "o-ring" it's an isolator that keeps the positive and negative pins from creating a short.

Turns out my 1.2 coil had 2 o-rings and the 0.5 had 0 so they have somehow both ended up on the 1.2.

Does anybody with the Subtank mini find it a bit of an effort to get the tank screwed back to the airflow base?

Also to anybody who has/has had a coolfire 4, what does "0.5s" mean on my display when i turn the device on?

Thanks

The last few turns are very snug, I don't use one, but service my wife's every few days.

0.5s is the Reading from Pressing the button to turn it on. The last press is firing the coil. 0.5 Seconds :D

My STM will sometimes feel a little off when starting to thread it before it catches and starts tightening down, then gets that "snug" feeling within about the last full revolution.

I had the disappearing o-ring problem on another tank, but I was going to re-use the coil after a cleaning/juice change. I presume the old o-ring went down the drain. Had to pull one off another dead coil.
