Hi again, still not quite got my head around which resistance is best.

New Set Up When It Arrives Will Be: Cool Fire 4 w/ Kanger Subtank Mini v2 - vaping 50/50 juice.

Looking for a nice balance of flavor/throat hit (stronger than current) & Vapor.

I'm currently running a Aspire CF VV Twist with Kanger Mini Protank 3 with 1.8ohm coils.

The coils available for my new Subtank Mini v2 are 0.5, 1.2 & 1.5.

Should i be looking to drop to 1.2 or 1.5 in order to get a stronger throat hit than i'm currently getting? The Subtank Mini v2 comes with a 0.5 and a 1.2.

And what type of voltage should I look to be running on the Coolfire 4 with 50/50 juice?

I'm sure this question seems daft to more experienced vapors bu this is my first time moving to a boxmod from an ego so want to make sure I get it right!

Thanks for any input.

I would think the 1.2 at about 12-14 watts would be nice for you. shut the air about halfway down and use a smaller bore driptip than what comes on the Sub Tank Mini. You will enjoy the smaller bore driptip more than the wide bore one that comes on the STM.
You may like the 1.5. it is a bit tighter draw. but you can shut down the airholes to the little single ones on the STM to get as tight of a draw as you want.

I think the STM is an excellent choice for you as it is so versatile. From tight MTL vaping to moderate wattage clouds with the .5. Which I think is somewhat hot for me.
I built a 1.2 ohm 2.4 mm dia coil in the RBA with 26 ga wire and like it at 13-14 watts.
I first used mine with the stock 1.2 coil and really liked it as well. I have not used the 1.5 but it should be a bit cooler and tighter draw.

I'll second Cromwell's sentiment. The 1.2 vertical coil is my preference - a happy combination of airflow, flavor and cloud in the 12-18watt range. I run my 1.2's with the airflow full-open as like a looser draw. The 1.5 is definitely much tighter on the draw but still not a bad coil. Both coils crank out respectable cloud and taste at wattages that won't drain your battery before you know what happened. 50/50 juice will wick well in the VOCC coils

Get the 0.5 coils, crank it up to 30w,80vg/20pg mix and vape away.im using the stm with dual coils at 0.3ohms.works just fine.good amount of vapour and tastes just fine.
