please. for the love of god, save your friend from getting one. These are the electronic cigarettes they sell at mall kiosks for $100+ it was actually the 1st ecig i was swindled into buying... back when i got mine the company was known as "smokingeverywhere" and their units are piss poor for the money you will dish out for one of them. The only consistant part of them were how often they malfunctioned... For a fraction of the cost your friend can get a volt or another comparable mini sized ecig. Stay away from smoke 51.

Here's the thing. I heard the Volt is comparable to the SideSho. I have a SideSho, but she says it's not enough like a real cigarette. I thought it might be a liquid thing, but I have both a 100% VG and a 100% PG liquid and she says she still likes the kiosk one better.

Is that because of my SideSho, or what's going on? For the record, I've tried another kiosk ecig called Brilliant Smoke and I can understand what she means. The liquid wasn't scratchy at all and it felt almost like a real cigarette. So what's up?

They don't make anything that they sell, it is all relabeled and most likely Chinese juice. Find out what flavor it is and buy the Dekang version.

It's probably a different model with a different resistance atomizer causing a more mellow hit. The smoke51 duo is a KR808D-2 as far as I can tell, it just costs twice what they do online and comes with a smoke51 membership card :banghead:

They have a mini called the trio that is a 4081 which is junk.

Your side sho is 510 threaded and that's probably why she likes the other better. 510 standard car to mixer/atomizers burn pretty hot and can cause throat irritation. Stick to the KR808D-1 and she will love it. Just make sure to get different flavors and different nicotine levels.

Had to edit I messed up on the model numbers. For the record the d-1 is much better than the e9 or d-2 in reviews of quality. The E9 is basically made to be cheap and relabel for mass profit. You can pick up really nice KR808D-1 kits all over the place.

Different how? Less I assume? Does this have anything to do with voltage? I have a V2 I just let her try and she likes it better, there just isn't enough of a throat hit.

Thanks a lot btw.

For whatever reason I've always found 510s to go from cold to hot vapor on cigalikes rather fast. It's just the design of the atomizers. The V2 looks like a 901 which I have never used, but as mentioned above PG + Higher Nic = more throat hit. Just beware some people have reactions to PG.

Different atomizer styles and ohm ratings give different degrees of vapor and throat hit. I've always had luck sending newbies to KR808D-1 setups but YMMV. To be honest whatever she likes just go with it, buying the heavily marketed brands like those you mentioned are going to cost 2-5x the amount of the identical product unlabeled online though.

Whatever floats her boat if it gets her off of analogs! I suggest she finds a vape shop if she can, they can help her find what is best for a lot less money.

My first purchase was $120 kiosk cig-alike and it got me off of analogs. Some vapers that I know still use them and don't smoke. I have moved away from the cig-alike as many do, but many people don't.

I think she will like it, just get a few different flavors or if you have some don't let one juice ruin it for her.

She loves the flavors I have, just not the hit. So to confirm, the KR808D-1 will give her more throat hit without scratchiness?

EDIT: I just did some research and someone from V2 says the V2 uses KR808D-1 threading, and this has nothing to do with the quality.

I am officially confused. What exactly does affect the throat hit and scratchiness besides the juice?

Whoops, didn't see this post earlier. The V2 is definitely a KR808D-1. I'll fill it with a higher nic juice first to see if it helps. What exactly are the different atomizer styles and ohm ratings? What do they do?

Well its hard because sometimes new vapers think burning hot vapor = throat hit. Since she said throat scratchiness I'm thinking its more volume of vapor + higher nic that will do the trick.

Each number is designating what thread pattern the device uses. Some are cross compatible like 510/306. The reason I say 510 is a hotter vape is that a lot of kits come with 1.5ohm-2.2ohm atomizers. The lower the ohm the more energy and the hotter and higher volume of vapor will be produced. IIRC 808 kits use cartos in the 2.4ohm range. They tend to produce a nice full vapor though just by design differences.

A higher PG/Nicotine level juice should do the trick but throat irritation can also be caused by a PG reaction. Tough spot.

I'd try a 70pg/30vg ish mix at around 18-24mg in your v2 and see what she thinks. It's the right device for her it's just the wrong juice. Tobacco flavors seem to have better throat hit as well in my experience.

Smoke 51 WAY over priced. You have to get special cartos. There pre-filled cartos are over priced. Only saving grace is that you can just bring your bad battery back and get a new one on the spot. If you fill your own cartos and its your first e-cig you will ruin a battery or two. They are auto batterys and will go dead if you get any liquid in them. Smoke 51 was my first e-cig only good thing I can say about them is that they led me here! :) Your a step ahead of me when I started vaping your already here. Search around the forums there are much better options. Good luck to ya!!!

including the fact they were known for sending you replacement carts and charging your credit card for them, and asking them to cancel it was an almost impossible task.

Thanks so much, that's amazingly helpful. I'm using cartos for my SideSho, not an atty and cart. But I do have an atty and set of carts in the mail. Do they sell higher ohm cartos for the 108/902? And what can I do to make a fuller vapor for my SideSho? Because my V2 doesn't fit in my PCC, and I LOVE my PCC.

She very much dislikes the scratchiness, but I'm honestly not sure what she's referring to when she says throat hit. I have a 18mg coming in the mail, so I give her that.
