It could be useful but you would need a mod with temperature control you can't use it in normal wattage mode.
Well atleast you know you have plenty of wire if you do have or ever get a temp control mod.

Don't even say that! I have just taken a vow not to buy anything else for at least the next five years!!!

I know the product title of that wire says Kanthal A1, but it also says nickel, and on the page the material says nickel. Sometimes FT doesn't really know what they're selling. Glad you figured it out!

OMG!!! I think this is the solution to the mystery. When Alice first mentioned it I thought they were just making a joke... like water turned to wine sort of thing. But now that you have repeated the possibility I went to check again. So here is the story - this may take long.

This is what I ordered from Fasttech some time ago: $2.10 Authentic Kanthal A1 Nickel Resistance Wire for RBA RDA RTA Rebuildable Atomizers - 29 AWG / 0.3mm*10m / 1.44ohm/cm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

This took some time to arrive and when it did I noticed that it had a tick on the 28 AWG in the little squares on the spool.

So I wrote to Fasttech about it.

Hi,
I have just received this order and everything else is fine apart from the above SKU. I ordered 29AWG Kanthal wire but instead I was sent 28AWG.

Kindly advise about how this situation will be remedied.

Sorry for the issue.

And we have confirmed the issue with supplier as this stock of 29 AWG Wire which sticker on item was marked wrong, but item itself was correct.

Our stock of this item sku which sticker all marked as 28AWG, but it should be 29 AWG.

So today, after the second mention of Nickel wire I had a closer look at the wire spool... actually this is its twin, bought together on the same day and Ta Daaa!

Man! I learn something every week! I assumed FT had sent what I ordered, apart from what looked like a different gauge. I never even noticed it said Pure Nickel because I was not looking out for it!! So now I suppose I am lumped with 200ft of pure nickel wire for which I have absolutely no use, right?

Hey, you metered it before firing it, that was smart. Hope your leg is doing better too.

Also, Dr. F hasn't done a "study" about dry burning/pulsing/torching coils, he only has a theory and made a comment about it. At least the last time I checked on that thread, that's where things stood.
