It's been over 2 months since I quit smoking and started vaping with an eGo-T starter kit. I can't fault it at all since I haven't had any desire for analogs since I started using it (was 1+ PAD smoker). However, after perusing this forum and educating myself on all the possibilities available, I'm left wondering how many feel that an upgrade is just that, instead of it just being the "hobbyist" mentality coming out and making you want the next best "gadget". From what I've gathered, a Provari is just immensely better... but is that true? What prompted you to upgrade and was it worth the investment. I'm not looking for responses like, "...considering what I used to spend on analogs...", but would rather hear whether or not, there were genuine benefits (taste, vapors, cost, ease-of-use, etc...). Thanks all!

My first pv was a reo grand. I always look to support American made whenever I can. In the world of bottom feeders...there is nothing else to compare it to. My second pv was a provari. Again, American made and vv. Makes a huge difference Imo as it relates to flavor. So to answer your question...I suppose I never did upgrade. I went straight to the top from the get go and have no regrets.

I have gone from (in order) a eGo 650mAh -->eGo 900mAh --> eGo 1000mAh Twist.
I just received my first mod,a Vamo today and so far so good! I upgraded because I wanted more vapor/throat hit and more vape time between battery recharges :)
I am very pleased so far with the Vamo :thumb:

BTW, I started vaping April 28th of last year :)

when i started i was really into looking at all the mods and options....then i kind of just died out from looking and just kept ordering whatever i knew worked for me....recently i got back into looking around for mods since the 18500 tube mod got kind of big to carry around and i've been doing a lot of looking around again

kind of comes and goes...seems like vaping is a lot about fun and flavors...trying things to enjoy it more

After a couple weeks of vaping I found this site and started reading (wish I had known before starting), I replaced the starter cartridges with a clearomizer, and thought that was the best... fill a tank once/day instead of repeatedly - amazing! So I've still been reading this forum and find each day I know relatively little in the vast world of e-cigs. I just don't want to monkey around with trial-and-error at $100+ each step of the way, accumulating pretty parts that will never be used again. I guess I'm just looking for the most reliable, best-performing equipment (i.e the ultimate setup and step-up) without the reviews along the lines of a z-atty-pro, which is un/appealing at the same time... $150 (if you can find one), but it leaks! WTH... $150 it better not leak!

I am a gadget freak so I'm always fighting the urge to get something new and shinny...I tied the make a plan and stick to it approach...lasted as long as I was not looking at new cool stuff I need!!!! For me I tend to upgrade little stuff with each order..try a new tank...or such...for the bigger price stuff I tend to use it as a carrot...If I sell a ac system as a side job then a % gets to be used towards a new toy.

I started with a pair of eGo batteries. Then I found ECF and decided that variable voltage was worth a try and got an eGo C Twist. A couple of weeks later, after reading all of the glowing reviews, I got a Provari.

The reasoning behind the Provari was that I saw the benefit of replaceable batteries, the refinement of the electronics and the versatility of being able to check resistance. When I got it the sturdy build and the overall quality also impressed me. Since I've gotten it I have not seriously considered another PV.

On the other hand, I still think that the eGo C Twist is a wonderful device and I keep it for a backup. For newbies or people on a budget, I think that it's a great battery and I gave some out over the holidays. It just seems to me that a variable voltage device is the way to go.

My very first e-cig was a disposable NJoy I saw on the checkout counter of a convenience market. Tried it out, was impressed enough to believe I could use one to replace my cigarette habit. My curiosity led me to find this forum via a Google search.

Purchased a starter kit from Smokeless Image. Within 2 weeks I grew tired of switching out batteries every 3-4 hours. I began looking into mods for longer battery time via replaceable-rechargeable batteries and a larger selection of juice carrying devices. Purchased a Silver Bullet and BB from Altsmoke, and began getting into cartotanks.

About 5 months ago I became interested in variable voltage, and purchased a Provari for home use and eventually a Smoktech variable voltage Gripper for outside the house. I've been smokefree for 8 months and counting.

I started with an eGo-T kit that I used for two weeks before upgrading to eGo Twists. The variable voltage allowed me to try a variety of juice delivery systems which made a big difference in the quality of my vape. Two months later I upgraded to a Provari because I new that I was going to be vaping long-term, I wasn't going to smoke again, and I wanted something I knew was reliable and going to stand the test of time.

I think ecf has also played a huge role in my vaping journey. I started vaping 2 1/2 years ago and joined ecf about a month or so after i started vaping. I started with a blu and hated it, so to find something more i started googling...found ecf and started learning, upgraded to a joye 510 then an ego. That wasnt enough. The ego worked great, but didnt put out what i was looking for. I owe alot of credit to a 5volt passthru that came with my 510. I finally saw what high powered vaping was all about. So i bought a lavatube, and the VV was the ticket....but man did i hate using tanks and punching cartos. So this past summer i bought my reo. And i have finally after two years found what works for me.just think of how much ECF has helped vapers over the short time its been up....

No doubt ECF is great... sort of a blessing and a curse though ;) Now that I know more... I know how little I know.

I started years ago with a 510. After a month or so I moved to Puresmoker.com's adjustable up to 5v mod (adjustable w/ a small flat head). I forgot the name of it. Then I also got a 5V Mako.

I went back to cigarettes for a few years. When I started vaping again in September, I got a few Ego twist batts and some clearos. After ~3 weeks I had a ZMAX. It was a POS and the switch died after a month. I got a Provari and a Provari Mini a few more weeks later. I absolutely LOVE my Provaris. I just use bridgeless 510 atties and drip. Sometimes a friend will make a nice mesh wich and twisted coil in an RBA tank for me.

Well two months and a couple weeks or so in. I'm going from my eGo style stick batteries to a Vamo. I figure with the 18350 batts and charger I ordered for it, I could segue into a Provari mini when I'm ready for that. Mmmm Provari mini.. in white.. with the blue LED. From what I've heard the voltage regulation is solid as a rock.

Mods with replaceable batteries. That's where the next step is. Could be a box, tube, mechanical, variable voltage... what have you. Get one of those multifunction chargers that can recharge various sizes.. get some nice quality IMRs... yeah that's where it's at.

I began with 2 ego 650 mahs. I was completely happy with the vape, but fell in love with the look of the Infinity Pro. I drooled over it and stalked notcigs.com for a month or so, wanting to get one as a reward when I saved enough by vaping to cover the cost, as my reward. When my first ego died 2 1/2 months in, I decided it was time to upgrade to something that I knew would last. I love it and if you wanted to take it you would have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.

As far as VV changing your life, most people say it does, but it's not that big a deal to me. I have also purchased Volt cig a likes for occasional out and about use, and I am completely happy with them as well. But being a clearo fan, I can only take advantage of about half of the VV range, so that may make a difference.
