Thanks all. Baditude, first congrats on 8 mo. Your response begs the question, "Why a Povari for home and a Gripper for outside?" This is what I'm trying to understand.
Love the Provari, and it rarely left my hand for 5 months after receiving it. However, anyone who uses one knows of it's heftiness and weight, and it is not the most pocket-friendly device in the extended version + a cartotank. I began using my BB for short trips out to the store and thinking wouldn't it be nice to have a V.V. battery that was small, short, lightweight like the BB and had V.V. Something for some stealth vaping at work would be nice, too.

I considered a Mini Provari, but couldn't justify another $200 + batteries at the time. Looked into the eGo V.V. (too long) and 14500-powered V.V. mods, but considered them to be too underpowered by that battery to be fully satisfied after having the Provari.

Decided on the Smoktech V.V. Gripper. Only $50. Uses the same 18650 imr battery the extended Provari uses. Has all the other features I was looking for in an out-and-about mod. I wish the construction was better, but if it lasts me until April, I'll be satisfied. At that time I plan to reward myself for 1 full year being smoke-free with a Mini Provari.

i bought an ecigalike , the next day i went for the ego , got some ce5s ect , but hates them also , had immense issues with leaking and such , personally i blame totally wicked , but thats a different conversation.

ended up stopping vaping.

then a month ago i bought an itaste vv thought id try again , loved it and the vivi nova i got with it. couple weeks later i bought my first battery mod. from Flash Intro Page , absolutely love this thing . but alas my fast upgrading will no doubt continue.

i too have been mulling over getting a provari mini. my saber is a bit hefty for outdoors use.

I quit with an ecig I got from a drug store. It was called fuma. It was okay, but the day after I got it I found this forum and had ordered a go-go within a week. I stuck with the go-go for about 3-4 months then decided to try a vmod-XL. I didn't care for the vmod, so I sold it and got a provari for my 6 month anniversary of quitting cigarettes. I've been with the provari ever since (about a year now). I use it in and out of my home. It is hefty, and I've thought about getting a provari mini or an ego twist for using out and about, but I'm saving so much money these days I hate to spend extra on something I don't really need. I'm using extra cash now to stock up on nicotine and cartomizers in case they get taxed or banned.

thats not a bad idea ! what ive been doing is wen geting in on co-ops ive been buying excesses , such as the mt3 , bought 10 units but also 10 replacement coils ect. it cant hurt having a box of supplies lying around in the event of a worse case scenario occuring.

yea i have been stocking up on liquid as well have a few 500ml bottles of unflavored nic liquid "just in case" only down side is the shelf life is about two years,so cant stock up to much:(
but i have looked into extracting my own nic from tobacco products and seems fairly easy to do, only downside is it would make regulating how much nic is in my liquids a bit difficult, but if they should ban them i guess i would have no other choice.

I started with an RN4081 Njoy from a gas station, after I decided ecigarettes could work for me I found ECF and got an ego-T kit which I lived with for 4 months or so (I had ego batteries of every size but they're all egos). After I got ...... off at how quickly the ego's died I got an e-power 14650 (months before the ego twist batteries were even around), and then that Christmas I gifted myself with a buzz pro about 2 months after the e-power. That was about a year ago, just got a VV Reo Grand about a week ago and currently in the coop for a Sigelei Zmax.

In hindsight I wish I would have skipped all the ego and e-power stuff, but somehow I feel like if I did I wouldn't appreciate my VV stuff as much.

I am probably one of the very few who actually ended up downgrading. I started with a stick battery and old fashioned attys and cartos with blue foam. Then bought the ego's long ago when they first came out. Then tried the mods. Little Sister, tube vv's, box mods. I am not sure why but for me the mods just all seemed to strong or harsh. I also started with tobacco flavors and went on to try all the fruity, cakey, drinky, vape flavors. I do think that having all the gadgets etc to mess with helped give me something to do and think about besides smoking but in the end and for the last year I ended up with a plain old 808, 78mm stick battery with a small 1mm tank and a couple of tobacco flavored juices. I do have 4 batteries rotating at a time and a few filled tanks ready to go.
I am all for getting whatever works and a lot of people need and like the mods and there is a plus to being able to buy new batteries as opposed to the ecig being the battery. My Smokeless Image batteries have lasted a year or more with rotation and I guess in the end I just needed easy and familiar.

It took less than a month for my progression to a Provari mini. 510->ego-c twist-> Provari. Both batteries in my 510 kit died within a week so that led me to the ego-c twist. After browsing the forum and seeing the glowing praises of the Provari I convinced myself I needed one, but held out for a bit. Still looking for my perfect setup and being a tinkerer, I read about RBAs and the amazing flavor/throat hit/etc they provide. That eventually led me to pick up my Provari. I use my Provari most of the time, but on drunken weekends I bring out the egos.

Amazingly even drunken me is fantastic at keeping track of my mods. I've lost all other sorts of stuff drinking on the weekends but every time I always manage to wake up the next day with it no more than 2' away. A few times I've even woken up on top of it haha.

I started with a cigalike, went to the ego 650, then the twists and now a provari.......but I still use the ego 650 (and recently purchased some 400 mah) for stealth vaping, I carry the little 400 mah ego with a bogo cartomizer in my pocket, the provari stays at home. The provari is by far a superior pv but the twist will give you the same results.

Constant voltage no matter battery level and being able to adjust voltage when using different resistance heads. Otherwise it's a crappy vape that only makes you want to go back to smoking.
Having harsh vape after removing it from charger and having vapor/flavor/th drop when nearing battery depletion.
Took me about 10 days to figure out that I want something good, because vaping is working for me. Took me another 10 days to figure out what APV I want, wated for some reviews. And then another 20 because of "awesome" post office do their jobs right.

Started with a basic 510, was tired of changing batteries every couple hours or so. Went with an ego after 1 week. Loved it! I could get an entire day, from the time I woke up until I went to bed with the 2 batteries. After a month or so of being satisfied and educating myself went with vw via a zmax. So much simpler just setting the wattage and being close with any juice or resistance level. Since then have added a few more devices, mainly from what has become a hobby. However, it was nice to get more accurate settings. You're first vape on a 2.8-3ohm atty/carto/tank set around 9ish watts, omg...that's the stuff!

Lots of great info... thanks all. Sounds like TheDarthVap3r needs a shopping intervention ;) Thanks Baditude for the response and pics too. I see this as something I'll be doing for sometime, and after reading others' replies it sounds like my ego could go anytime (had it 2+ months now). I also go outdoors dog-walking/hiking for a couple hours or more everyday and keep my ego in my pocket, so it sounds like the standard sized Provari may not be the most practical option...
