I was just wondering which is better. Leaving a carto in a tank for the life of the carto or taking it out and cleaning the tank. I know this sounds stupid but I have been switching out my flavors and just capping off the carto and putting it with the bottle on the rubberband. I have been thinking of getting a couple of more tanks and just using each one for different juices (I usually use 30 ml bottles)

I rotate flavors so juice ususally last me a few weeks and was seeing if this would be ok for the tank just to refill it till the bottle was empty. I use IBtanked Pyrex Tank with stainless caps.

I'm a fan of changing out flavors, usually switch out 3 - 4 times a day. Also a fan of IBTanks. I currently have 12, each with its own flavor. With so many tanks, I generally continue the same flavor in the tanks and just switch out a new carto when the draw becomes stiff. ECF buddy The Ocelot came up with a technique of switching cartos while there is still some juice left in the tank. You can find a video of her demonstrating the technique in the cartotank tutorial in my blog. You can gain access to it by clicking the link under my avatar and then clicking on the title.

If you devote so much money to a cartotank fund in your vaping budget, you could purchase a new tank every month as you also build up a collection of flavors to go in them.

Good I was just curious weather or not mold or something would grow in them o rings if I didn't clean them as often. Right now I clean them after every tank. The cartos I use usually last through a 30 ml bottle and then when I finish the bottle I just toss the carto.

If you feel better cleaning your tanks after every tankful (I personally would consider that a bit much), then by all means do so. I don't see the necessity of it unless the previous flavor in them was a particularly strong one. If exchange a fruit for a fruit, or a coffee for a coffee flavor, I wouldn't clean the entire tank.

Considering that both pg and vg are bacteriostatic by nature (keeps bacteria from reproducing), and that nicotine itself is a poison, I don't think too many live things will grow in our e-liquids.

I got quite a few carto/tanks now and I try and change the Carto itself about once a month if it's still going good. (most don't need it but I do it anyway. My OCD I guess.) I never take out the juice from the tank but I use a slap yo momma adapter to be able to push the new one inside the tank. From the bottom up. Using 35mm carto's I've never had a problem with this unless I got a bad carto to start with.

I clean my tanks when the carto dies and the flavor was a strong one, or if I have particulates in the juice. I do not have as large a collection as bad (but I am striving for that) so I am in the habit of changing to a similar flavor instead of changing out the carto if it's still good. Such as one fruit to anohter one. If the 2 flavors blend a bit it's not totally gross.

I mostly vape using carto tanks (for now), and am always switching out different flavors though out the day. I have about 8-10 tanks laying around with different flavors in each one. Buying carto tanks for each flavors of juice can get expensive, but I have been using these cheap $4.65 SmokTech carto tanks with no problems.

3.5ml or 6ml - clear or smoked for $4.65 each. Cant beat it!

I started out with those with the polyprohylene tube thinking I was safe with me lemonade juices. After a while though it turned my caps to goo! Thats when I just got the Ibtanked one.

I have recently gone back to cartos and while I am building up my pyrex tank arsenal I am using the smoktech pyrex dct. You can find them for $10.99 from some vendors and they are really a pretty good tank. I even find myself preferring the flavor in them over my kir fanis tanks. But obviously you can't beat the look of the prive special and the veredero. Right now I am anxiously awaiting my first cirrus 12 ml and valley vapes 8ml tank for my new Bam but ibtanked is def next weeks purchase OCD seems like he really goes all out for his customers.

I have one single tank that I've been using since January. I replace the carto every 2-3 days, and I clean everything thoroughly with every carto change. The tank is still using all the original parts & o-rings. So obviously frequent cleaning does not hurt the parts, and may even extend the life of them considering how long mine have lasted.
