How long did it take you to switch from cigs to ecigs?

It took me 3 months. I started with a mall kit.. and while I knew it wouldn't do the job, I was intrigued. I did some research and ended up here. I had to have time to find some decent juice and build up some hardware that would support me. I was using the little, manual 510 batts, dripping into regular attys when I finally quit. I moved on to eGos, box mods and so on. I took my time and didn't pressure myself. The last month I was down to one in the morning and one before bed.. then it was just one a day and then none :)

When I bought my first kit I honestly never intended to quit. Bought it more out of curiosity than anything although the thought of being able to vape, even though I didn't know that was what it was called at the time, in hotel rooms and such sounded great as I travel a lot.

Right away I cut my smoking in half without even noticing. Went on that way for a week, the next week was down to a quarter. Still didn't really notice until my local 7-11 guy asked if I had quit or something as I wasn't buying anymore. Thought I'd give myself a little push and see if it was hard to stop all together telling myself that if it was I'd keep doing both, no big deal to me.

Since that day I haven't touched one even though I have two packs in my desk drawer. Been a little over eight weeks and still going strong.

My point here is not "yay me", but rather that I never really even tried to quit until I had my toes on the start line. It just sort of happened for me and I'm grateful for that.

I bought a pack of cigarettes on October 18,2013 , then my son told me about the E Hooka E cig and I bought 1 from Starship and I smoked and vaped the whole weekend. On Oct.21,2013 monday morning I smoked my last cigarette which 1 pack use to last me a day, this one lasted all weekend and I made up my mind that I was spending too much money on cigarettes After that last cigarette I didn buy any more and been vaping on the regular and never went back to smoking ...I thank my son for turning me on to it.....

Bought a Blu-Cigs starter kit a year ago with a couple carto refill packs of assorted flavors. I immediately liked a couple of the flavors (especially Vivid Vanilla).

At the time I bought the kit, I had maybe a half-a-pack of cigs left. That night and over the next day or so, as soon as I realized that the ecig was completely satisfying the urge for nic with flavors that I liked, I knew I could stop the cigs. I finished up the half pack, and that was it.

I am coming up to my 1 year anniversary in a couple of days, and I am absolutely amazed at how easy it really was (looking back).
I have weaned myself down to 0 nic as well. I'm so damn thrilled I still can't quite get over it!
God bless Blu-Cigs, Vivid Vanilla, egos, mods, VG, PG, flavorings of all kinds, and all things e-cig! They are all life-savers!

Took me 4-5 weeks. I had to get rid of the stock I had, didn't have the balls to toss them in the trash. I also wanted to beef up my hardware so I had backups of everything so if something broke I wouldn't go to the store to buy smokes. Last I wanted to get the diy thing down so I was self sufficient on juice. Someone gave me advice during that time (I think it was here) "don't count the ones you smoke, count the ones you don't". It helped me not beat myself up when I did smoke, allowed me to do it on my own terms and in my own time. I found an opportunity to kick them completely when I had to travel and have now been almost 5 weeks free.

I can't remember exactly, but I'd say in one day I went from 1-1/2 packs per day to only 3 or 4 cigs a day. Pretty impressive for me, IMHO. I didn't put any restrictions or "quit date" to put undue stress and pressure on myself. It probably took another 4 weeks to not want any cigarettes at all anymore. And one day out of the blue, I couldn't actually remember the last time I smoked. I put that as my "quit date" on my signature banner below. The day I "forgot" I was a smoker. I didn't "quit." I "forgot" I smoked. I like it that way.

About a week. Maybe a little less? 5 to 6 days? I didn't keep track really. I didn't set any rules for myself. In fact, I wasn't really planning on quitting. I just found myself picking up my ego more then my cigarettes.

Sounds a lot like me.

43 years, 1 1/2 pad, and bought the kit for curiosity & maybe save money.

I was about 7 or 8 days, and had had 1/2 a .... one day. I mentioned it to the baritone in my barbershop quartet & he said "why bother?

Yup, those baritones are smart! I was done.

That all sounds awesome. Today is my first full day and I have smoked three, where I normally would have smoked at least seven by now. I smoked those only because I have had a stressful day and thought I had better have a cig instead of vape as an insurance policy, not because vaping wouldn't cover it lol. Will see how it goes. Next week should be interesting as I am away on a school trip for a week, I'm a teacher not a kid lol, so I will find vaping less obvious and more discreet. Not to mention flying and being in hotel rooms lol
