I saw something about bacteria growing in a cartridge that was more than 24 hours old, I think that was propaganda by the makers of cartridges. I have been using the same two for three weeks now, I will take the filler out and rinse it and start over with it again. I think the worse thing you can do is let it get dry and then it can get burnt by the atomizer. I ordered a bunch of cartridges when I made my first order. I have around 75 of them and I don't ever see myself ever needing to order any more. I guess I'll replace the cartridge when it stops working or I can't get it clean. Even if you can't get the filler clean it can just be replaced with some fiber from the fish store. I think I have some 801 cartridges for sale! :)

I use it till it starts tasting bad. Since I discovered the Fluval, I don't bother with washing the old stuffing, I just fill another cart. I do however squeeze all the old juice from the carts with a syringe into an empty bottle. It ain't to pretty, but it taste OK when your out of fresh stuff.

my supplier tells me to use empty cartridges for one to two weeks tops.

I normally use mine for a week, then discard. When using the empty carts with no mod filler, they usually start getting a different taste or burnt from the atomizers. 52 weeks, equals 52 cartridges. Thats not alot of money.
and my flavors always taste pretty darn good.
If i leave them in longer, I dont get the full juice flavor, tastes almost stale.

Seriously, is this even possible? I mean, how would bacteria grow in an environment of PG, Nictotine, distilled water and flavoring? There's no nutrients there. The heat alone will kill bacteria. I don't think there's any merit to this e-cig myth.

"Personal" lubricants are made mostly of PG and no one worries about bacteria growing in them (and they're used in "sensitive" areas of the body). I just don't get the "bacteria" thing. I think it's FUD.

The plastic cart should last till the next appearance of the dinosaurs...the filler is another matter. There does seem to be some heat related deterioration of the material, so restuffing is wise. I don't see bacteria being an issue in a PG/Nicotine solution because of the anti-microbial nature of PG...VG may be another matter. Don't know if nicotine will have any effect on bacterial growth.

I have pretty much been trying to use carts for 2 days then replacing them with a new one since I think I saw that suggestion somewhere here. I am totally not the type of person that is going to handwash one of these things out, so I bought a boatload of carts with my order, even though I am now already thinking about using the Pyramids. But from what I am reading here, looks like I can leave carts in a lot longer!
