10 months for my V2 but the buttons are little wonky- still works but occasionally buttons act odd. V3 I've owned for 4 months and still works great.

I have 4 of them in various versions, 3 V2 and 1 V3, all of them in stainless and have wonky main switch in them all. They don't make solid contact when pushed and need to fiddle with t hem pushing in different places until they fire. Maybe I am pushing too hard or maybe they used cheap switches when they built them. Otherwise I love them.

Sent with my arthritic thumbs with proofreading help from the hound!

I bought mine from a buddy that upgraded to a v4. I was told it was a v1 (I don't know about that) but its a dang tank. I has been the only vv/vw mod that has survived my relentless abuse. The pcb board buttons don't have any click left in them anymore but they still work. I don't know exactly how long the previous owner had it (probably close to a year), but I've had it 6 months and its fine as frogs hair. About to buy parts for it and plastidip it. :vapor:

Good to hear someone has had a Vamo that has lasted as long as yours! Another nice thing about this thread is seeing what folks have done to repair theirs and the links they shared! Would like to see that PlasticDip Job when your done bender817 sure others would too! Haven't heard of anyone doing that yet! {:{}

Yeah. I will post it in a new thread here and in Cosmetic Mods. Its really just going to be for shock value. I'll be adding 2 tube extensions to run it dual 18650. Just want it to be different. lol

Guess another update.. Over a year now for the wife's and mine (V2), and as you've seen earlier in this thread, mine has gone through hell... But.. It's still working!
Somehow the threads were not damaged from that last fall I reported.. the carto in that tank finally died though LOL
Currently have an RC200 on it (again) and I can't use the voltage part (it switches right back to watts) But the wattage side is doing it's job.
I did remove my j-wrap last week, and other than the cracked screen and wear around the buttons and battery cap, it looks like new!! Wow!

If the postman cooperates, I should be up to 4 Vamos later today. Also own an evic, and a vv wood box that I seldom use.
All of the Vamos are SS (V2, V3, V5). The new arrival will be my first aluminum Vamo and a V2.
My first Vamo SS V2 has a screwy fire button but still works. I've been using it since early July 2013 as my goto vape. I'm still using it but expecting to find it dead some morning, or least opportune moment. Once it's dead I'll do an autopsy to see if it can be ressurected or become parts for the others.

My take on the Various versions of the Vamo is:
V3, V5 Removable top cap. Easier to clean 510 connector well, use ego tanks without an adapter or the risk of dumping the ego tank contents
V3, V5 Option to show watts/volts/resistance when the fire button is pushed. This feature would be great for troubleshooting my V2 firing issue.
Best price wins barring being totally in love with something that the V3/V5 can do that the V2 won't

Whoa! Mailman delivered my aluminum V2s. One for me, Three for others.
The threads on these are noticably tighter than any Vamo I've owned to date. Very solid!
Significantly lighter than my Stainless Steel models.
The anodized finish looks really good, red, pink, black, gold and silver. TBD on how well it holds up.
Vaped 3 of the 4 new ones all worked as well as any vamo I've owned.

Gotta go play with my new toys.

at 5:40, he compare a vamo v1 to a vamo v5 but I'm pretty sure that the height of the vamo v1, v2 and v3 didn't change.

You're right. I broke down and ordered a V5 from FastTech and it arrived today. It's about 4-5 mm longer than my V2. Basically, the V2 only reaches to the bottom of the bevel on the V5 trim ring.

VAMO.V2.and.V5.jpg

This one has a different finish than my V2 that came from Vapor Break last spring. It's a brushed stainless, the one from VB is more of a polished stainless. I like this one better. Looks like it's built good. All the joints are tight, threads work good, and the buttons are tight & clicky.

I'll probably use it through the return period and then put it away as my spare.

Just my opinion, but If your picts of your VB V2 and FT V5 are your actual Vamos, the V2 is chrome plated brass while the FT V5 is brushed SS.
I own 2 SS V2 Vamos, 2 SS V3, 1 SS V5 and have bought several more for family members and friends (6 or 7 total). None have had a bright finish.
I could be wrong but I don't think so.
The difference in height (length) is due to the addition of the V3 threaded head to the v2 body. The studded top cap is obviously taller than the V2 top cap.

Giving your new toy a through 'test drive' is definitely a good idea. The 510 head threading is definitely a major point of interest. I've returned 2 for stripped 510 head threads. Note: FT will replace them free, shipping included, for the first 45 days. After that up to 6 months, if I remember correctly, but shipping is your responsibility.
I've never had a need to check out the return policy beyond about 30 days, and that was due to my Bud not giving his new V2 a through 'test drive' before putting it away as a backup.

Best of luck with your new toy

I'm curious about the results from this thread but for anyone interested in buying their first I'd point out that this is a skewed sampling a personal results. Obviously if someone had a single device that lasted, say 3 months or less, and never got another they'd never be reading a thread in a Vamo forum and therefore wouldn't post here.

You are claiming that the results of this thread are not representative of all people who have bought Vamos?? Sampling bias?? Awww, you don't know nutthin about stats. There ain't no sampling bias here. LOL.

Why don't we switch the subject. Sort of like a local commercial for a store that repairs musical instruments.

Don't let a three-year old put a 510 topper on your Vamo. It might get cross-threaded. Anyone else done anything dumb like that?

@0mg Meniere Yes the 3 yr or even 63 yr, in some cases, would/could be a bad thing.

@bsoplinger Of course the sampling is skewed this is a specific product forum. There are supposed to be lovers and haters. If I had my Vamo die at 1 or 2 months I would definitely not be a happy camper, prone to 'whining' on a forum such as this. Telling others of this evil product that had dun me wrong.
If on the other hand I had spent upwards of $200 for a PV that performed lesser or equal to a $25-35 PV I'd think that sharing that info with others would also be worthwhile.
So as the man said "your results may vary" and therefore your comments on a given forum would reflect your personal experience and biases. So anything less than skewed results should be a normal outcome.
But I could be wrong.

My friends mom dropped his v4 from a little below shoulder height and it landed tank first on concrete. The tank ejected and the threads were no more. His new top is tagging along in my next box of vapemail.

@Y'all: Please go vote on my vamo's color in the poll thread if you haven't already.
