When exactly does the "I feel great!" part kick in?

Everyone is different, i went through tons of e-cigs, mods, and e-liquids until i was able to find my happiness. There is so much out there now that is hard to say what to go with. When it comes to e-cigs/mods will be personal preference, cost, size. Highly recommend a variable voltage/wattage set up so you can control how much vapor it produces. There are plenty of US based vendors that sell sample packs. I'm exclusive with my e-liquids and only vape Ahlusion's products. Even though i have been vaping for 5 years i keep things simple. I'm currently using a S.I.D with Pyrex/Aero tank or Magneto with a kick and Kanger Protank.

I quit July 15, 2010 at 07:30 EST, so it's roughly 3 1/2 years for me.

To the noobs starting out, stick with it, vaping really does work.

And you have it so much better now, after about 3 months of various starter sets my first big upgrade was to a 650 mah fixed voltage eGo (and I was thrilled with it...)

I do chuckle a bit at some of the "help it's leaking" threads, when I was a noob I think 1/2 my nic intake was from the juice I spilled and leaked on my hands....

I'm still working on that, but then it wasn't necessarily my intention to totally quit smoking when I started vaping, and despite that I've wound up going from about a pack a day to a pack a week since then.

bohrdude,

Yeah, commitment is a great part of leaving the cancer sticks behind. I smoke 2 packs a day for 20 yrs. Besides the health benefits i looked into my pocket. Let's say i was still smoking NP today i would be paying out $10 a day, $70 a week and $280 a month. If i was to buy a set up or "kit" it will run my about $80 + a bottle of juice that will last me a week for $8. So week one i'm already spending more money. Now for week 2 i just buy another $8 bottle and so on. By the end of that month i would have spent $112 but on the flip side, i saved $168.

Shortly after i quick smoking with the money i was saving i bought a new bike, the payment for that plus my e-liquid/supplies was less than what i was spending in cigs alone.

Tomorrow makes a month....I had my last analog on my way to a local vape shop and haven't had one since. I even had the pack in my glove compartment and never touched it :D How cool is that????

Funny you mentioned the pack in the GB, last year i found a new pack of NP in my shop, they are old and stale but i left them there. Hey, you never know when the zombie apocalypse will hit and we no longer have power to charge or devices. That pack will come in handy, lol

For me its been about 50 days.

Initially, I wasn't intending on stopping real cigs, just wanted to see if I could cut them down. Took about a week and then I was almost exclusively vaping. I went for a day or two without a real cig. Then I tried one. Was so bad, I almost threw up. Felt nauseous for about 30 mins. That was my last analog.

I was a pack a day Rothmans Blue smoker. (for about 17 years)

I've been tempted on one or two occasions to try a real cig - but mainly when I've had difficulties with my vaping gear or not liking new juices. But I have resisted it. I feel great! Can smell and taste things much better and my chest feels slightly more open.

Stay strong, make sure you have no access to analogs it will make it much easier. Once you notice how things smell better and food taste awesome you will realize you made the right decision.

Thanks for the encouragement! I am using a little different approach though. I have 1/2 pack sitting in the normal place on the shelf in the garage. As long as I have no desire to go get one, I know everything is fine.

Started vaping Dec. 7th 2012 & had my last cig the morning of Dec. 12th 2012. Just made it past the 1 yr smoke free point:D

What exactly are you experiencing fiddleshe? Are you having cravings? It's different for everyone. I had night sweats & felt extremely tired the first few weeks. Tell us a little more & we might be able to help.

Oh man you don't even want to know. My list of medical issues is more than a typed page long. I am currently waiting for surgery for a tumor that is most likely benign but it's spitting out some nasty hormones. On top of my other crap. So in general, I feel awful every day. Anyways, back to vaping :), it's hard for me to tell what I feel is from quitting and starting vaping and what is from my medical issues. I started this whole thing because I am DONE with feeling sick day in and day out. Why make it worse for myself by using stinkies? Even a slight improvement in my health is better than none at all. I'm taking back my life, however I have to do it.

Just wondering if there was some magical point in which most people felt more energetic, less winded, etc. Or what improvements did you feel? I had been smoking so long (23 years) I don't remember what I felt like before.

I will share a personal story if anyone is willing to read it.

Last year my father-in-law was in his death bed due to stage 4 lung cancer, extremely weak and barely holding on. He turned to us and said "i want to smoke a cigarette". Many flipped out about it and told him that is why he is dying, being a formal smoker and combat veteran i know when you need a smoke, you need a ... smoke. I told them all he has little time, let him smoke his cig. We took him outside to the front porch and they lit it for him. It was beautiful watching him enjoy that cig so much to the point that i almost joined him but i didn't, i could not bring myself to it. When he was done he smiled and said that that was the best cigarette he has ever had looked at me and nodded his head. I took that as he acknowledged that i wanted to join him but didn't and he approved. He passed a couple of days later. Rest in Peace Marc, love you brother.
