I have been vaping for 2 months now. I have been on zero nic juice for 3 weeks. I know I am an exception for the most part, but for me, the nic was the easy part. It is the security blanket that I cant give up. The motion is everything for me. I don't even miss the nic..I went from 24 to 11 in a week..then to 6 and 4..then to zero. But I enjoy my vaping, and I enjoy my flavors. I see no reason to rush quitting vaping, if I ever will get to it at all. If it gets to the point where I can simply take or leave it, I will leave it. Until that point though, pass me my bottle of butterfinger juice, my cart is almost empty.

This is how I am hoping it is going to work for me. I have two kits, a bunch of cartos for each, and juice of various strengths. I have already gone from 18mg to 11mg in just a week.

I like the flavors and I like the "act of smoking" but I don't want a nic addiction for the rest of my life. I would have no issue vaping forever as long as I get to a zero nic juice sometime in the next few weeks to months.

Thanks for giving me hope that it can be done.

July will be two years.

I have absolutely no desire to stop vaping. I enjoy it. It's the only thing that allows me to stay off cigarettes, and it's pleasurable.

I'm not much into the self-denial thing.

Nicotine is not the devil. At least not for most of us. And there is little else in an ecig that is even concerning.

I'm a 24 mg vaper..pretty much always have been. I used to have a regular smoke here and there but haven't now in months.

Everyone has a different goal. My goal is to not smoke. As Charlie would say, "WINNING."

My goals are multi faceted.
Originally wanted to quit smoking after 40 years of killing myself. - Goal accomplished - 21 days...

After losing my mom and dad and first wife to cancer, my second goal was to try and help people like me to quit and maybe get a handle on their own lives and possibly dodge the Big C bullet. - That goal is also accomplished and ongoing

The third goal was accidental. After seeing how easy it was to convert people from analog to digital, I decided to see if there was any money in it as well. I found the brand I really like, and became an affiliate and should start making a little extra cash starting next month. Hoping to at least make enough to cover my own vaping expenses.

I plan on dropping my nic level from my current 24 slowly, but as others have said, I enjoy it enough I doubt I will ever give it up.

And a BIG CONGRATS to Rosa... Keep on vaping.....

I had a TIA and so I have to quit smoking. While this does reduce my risk because it eliminated the carbon monoxide, the nicotine will also aggrivate the aneurysm. My push for getting to a zero nicotine level is serious and much needed. I won't be on nicotine for life, though I know that just switching to ecigs is a little healthier. I want to be completely healthier though.

I also don't believe the hype that ecigs are completely safe and harmless. They are better for you than a two pack a day habit without doubt. I just don't believe that someone that vapes is at the same level as someone that doesn't smoke and doesn't vape.

It is safer, but I don't want my kids to smoke OR vape. I am just using it as a tool for now to quit a worse habit. Once I am free and clear of regular cigarettes (I still have to have one in the morning to "get going") then I will work on eliminating all nicotine. Until then, this is a safer alternative, but it isn't 100% free of risks.

I agree :)

It should be relatively easy (or at least easier) to quickly lower or eliminate the nicotine from your vaping habit. Oddly, it's been shown that nicotine by itself is actually not significantly addictive when you eliminate the tobacco from the equation:

quote:
Technically, nicotine is not significantly addictive, as nicotine administered alone does not produce significant reinforcing properties.[41] However, after coadministration with an MAOI, such as those found in tobacco, nicotine produces significant behavioral sensitization, a measure of addiction potential. This is similar in effect to amphetamine.[42]
Nicotine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

...so once you quit the tobacco smoking and have gotten the rest of the junk out of your system, lowering your nicotine and stopping it altogether won't be as hard as it would seem.

Good luck! :)

Your entitled to your opinion.

If your still smoking analogs, you might have reduced your nicotine too quickly.

I don't plan on quitting. I started vaping because I didn't want to have to quit smoking, now I don't. I've been vaping for 364 days.

One Year Now!!! Congratulations, that is really an awesome accomplishment. I'm happy to be at 46 days and can't imagine the 1 year mark. Again, congratulations. I've read a lot of your comments in this forum and you are a very positive and helpful person. Hope you're very proud of yourself because you should be.

Well, it's been a little over a year since I picked up my first PV in the middle of Feb 2010. However, my last cigarette was April 25th 2010. It took me awhile because I was coming down from 48 mg of nic a day. Started at 36 mg + 10-15 cigarettes from smoking 2 (sometimes 2 1/2 packs of Pall Mall Reds). Then finally on April 25th was finally down to 36 mg. Now I'm down between 12-24 mg depending on the flavor.

The way I knew when to step down a mg is when I wasn't using the PV constantly (about 4 hours inbetween). When I am on the 24mg I tend to go along time without constantly taking a hit. The 12 is constantly still chain vaping right now.
