I'm trying to get a feel for how many have achieved some success in replacing all their smoked cigarettes with e-cigarettes. I created a poll that asks you to select the time-frame in which you substituted vapor for smoke. I included dates that go into the future so that, in a year or two when we review the poll results, we will be able to see the sheer numbers of long-term success stories.

I quit on July 30th, 2009. Cold Turkey. Wasn't really what I wanted to do, but my wife put me up to it. I enjoyed smoking and I wasn't suffering from any health issues. She's a non-smoker and I wanted to make her happy. I managed to hold out for a few weeks but it was getting harder to deny the urge to smoke. I came across an ad for Blu cigs and I checked around to find out more about e-cig.

Most of my friends, co-workers, and family are smokers. It was a real strain on my resolve to keep from snatching up a cig everytime I saw someone light up.

I settled on a starter kit from Volcano. I figured that it might help by keeping me from craving the real thing. Got my starter kit, and loved it. Only 0 nic carts, to keep the wife happy. Been vaping ever since.

Haven't wanted or touched a real cig since then.

*BUMP*

Two years smoke-free today. When did you stop smoking?

We are up to 284 responses. I would dearly love to someday look at that poll and see at least 1,000 people smoke-free for at least 6 months.

Thats fantastic.

The duration for me is 248 days, 19 hours, 7 minutes and 0 seconds

Or 8 months, 5 days, 19 hours, 7 minutes

Vocalek - congrats on two years!! And congrats to tinstar15 for 0 nic. I was impressed with myself using 6mg at home and 12mg at work, however 0 is fantastic!

Of course that could bring up a legal problem. If you get stopped by a police officer because you are vaping in a car with a child in it, would it help to show the officer your juice has no nicotine? ;-) Just kidding, but I'd love to be the fly on the wall in the courtroom.

Severe COPD and I still could not quit smoking. 6Mar2011 started vaping and haven't had a single analog since. Not even an urge for one. When I tried to quit before, the golf course and the casino was my undoing, but no problem at all now. I've done both on 6mg nic and could not tell the difference, so that 0 nic might not be far off.

Congats on hitting the 2 year mark Vocalek!
I got my kit at the very end of October in 2010.
I had quit all smoking within three days so I it has been about 8 months for me using November 2
as my quit date. I'm still amazed as I really only wanted to cut down on my two pack a day habit.
I must say that having quit I've never felt better or had as much lung power and that allows me to be able to workout again and that to me, is miraculous.
