How long to charge new Riva 510?

Thanks to some advice I got in an earlier post I recently replaced my Joy 510 with the more robust Riva 510 Lite Bundle, I just got it in today and my question is this: when I purchased my Joy510 the woman on the phone told me that the first time I use it I should charge it for at least 8 hours - is the same true of Riva as well?

When the light on the charger turns green they are fully charged, good to go.
Li-ion batteries do not use a trickle charge, it's in the nature of the battery chemistry.
