How long to let my atty dry after cleaning it?

If you leave it to dry in the open air, maybe a day, maybe less. I shake them out good like shaking down a thermometer. If you put them in a 200 deg oven, with vodka and 20 minutes. You can always dry burn off the last little bit.

But I personally would avoid vodka to clean attys. I found they tend to die faster. If I cleaned 20 attys that way, about 2 would be dead afterwards. That was my experience, but YMMV. Perhaps it was just luck, perhaps it was that they were about to die anyway, perhaps the vodka dissolves something inside and kills the coil. I don't know, but I use polydent to soak them now, overnight, then flush with lots of hot water, and dry. I found it works better and they live longer.

And I would also get some more if you like using attys. Rotating through several will allow them all to last longer, and they tend to die at the worst time.
