How low can you build a reo?

Just got my first reo grand LP last week and I think I went too low. I was shooting for .25 and ended up at.18. After awhile it started performing poorly and then stopped firing and I would get sparks when pressing the fire button. So I cleaned it and applied Noalax. Still doesn't fire. I was using a button top Orbtronics. I can't tell if the shooting is the issue so I ordered a new one and should be here this week.

I also ordered some AW batteries. 2200 and 1600 mAh.

Thoughts?

Sounds like someone may want to order a new possitive contact and some aw 2200mah Imr batteries from Authentic AW Batteries - RTD Vapor the trusted site for real authentic not rewrapped fake batteries! Only place I'd buy from.

If that contact is now pitted from all thst arcing it's like no good.. it will continue to arc on the new batteries pitting them as well. You want smooth contacts.

If it's the new gold contacts you can't file thrm as you'll trash the gold coating. Replace the contact.

Best to use deoxit gold on your gold contacts. The lower the ohms the more often you want to put it on the contact. For you prob twice a week hehe. I'd might even dab it on the battery. Utton every batt swap just to call it good.

Find that deoxit gold on amazon. Will keep it arc free.

Thanks for everyones responses. Very informative. My battery AMP rating is 22 so I was a bit over that. I'll also build with higher guage wire going forward shooting for .5 Ohms.

The battery spring isn't loose so maybe that's not the problem. It's an issue of it being new and not used to it. I thought maybe it was the spring dropping as I've read about that but my battery fits fine.

I can't do much with it until I get the old AW in, hopefully tomorrow. I'll post an update tomorrow.

Thanks.

I run Derringers on all four of my Grands - three built to around 0.35ohm, one built to 0.27. No problems at all with my Samsung 25Rs.

For grins and giggles I tried .19 ohms once. Fired it for about 10 seconds, checked and the VTC4 was heating up. Not hot, but quite warm. Of course I ripped the build out and put my usual .5ish ohm build in. That reo still works flawlessly.

Do make sure to get some deoxit gold, or at least keep those contacts greased with noalox, and never run any battery past its rating or such that it gets hot.

Enjoy an excellent vape :)

Sounds like someone needs a refresher in battery specs and ohms law if they are using sx22's or protected cells to go that low.
I left out that I was using Sony VTC4's and 5's but since the Orbtronic was button top I thought I'd give that a try as well. Since I've been building coils for so long I admit I was a little risky this time.

Everyone makes mistakes. Just glad your batteries said ummm...no, instead of getting nasty about it. :)
