Im no expert so others will have a different and better suggestion but I'd throw them on the REO when it comes. My only reason is with many new electonic devices that come with batteries they say to run them all the way dead then charge. Btw kudos on using "Unsure Law" (always have everything you need at the house before the REO arrives). :)

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a trick to running these AW's "all the way dead"? I assume I wouldn't want to use them any lower than 3.5 in the Reo.

Not quite "unsure law"... I placed all the orders on the same day. Praying the juice, atomizers, and cartos will arrive along with the Grand tomorrow.

Hoping for the best. I really don't want to sit and stare at it until Monday.

Imagine staring at a REO you can't use cause your waiting for an atty, battery or juice...hence the Unsure Law. :)

Unsure, THAT would be rough... :(

Tmcase, thanks for the input. I'm probably over-thinking, but I'd rather think too much than not enough.

On a side note; Do you vape on your bike? I've been trying to figure out if I could do it on the Wide-Glide. I've smoked analogs at low speeds, but usually end up with a face full of ash.

Hey I did just that and I would much rather stare at a shiney Reo then a dirty old battery. On the other hand I now have 3 18650's cuz my supplier sent me the wrong batteries (have a mini) and theres no new Reo Grand's available YET for me to order :)

I would just put it in the Reo and vape. I wouldn't run them dead though. Running them dead will kill an IMR. The vape will be very cool though before you get far enough to kill the battery.

 Don't think I haven't given that some thought but I don't really think it's necessary. I like stopping to take a vape break and enjoy the scenery.

Really....a REO that you can't use is a sin and pure torture imo.

Welcome and congratulations on the REO!!!!!!!!

This calls for a banana dance!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Everyone answered most of your questions. As far as riding and vaping it works like a charm. I vape the REO at freeway speeds all the time with no problem. You can also vape with a full face helmet and gloves too.

Post some pics when it gets there.

I cant wait and its conveinent compared to the days of smoking when a smoke would last about 45 seconds on the freeway. :smokie:

I would throw them on the charger and then let them rest for awhile. Some say 1 hr. That way you will get the full effect of a Reo. At 3.9v your battery is only 55% charged.

Terry is correct. :) I said you should put them in when you get the REO but I was wrong to run them dead. Some types of batteries you get in some comsumer products are recommended to run till dead before recharging. Sorry for the misinfo. Its my background in new laptop batts that should run for the first time till dead before recharging.

"AW brand rechargeable Li-ion batteries are believed to give the best performance of all rechargeables ... Lithium Ion batteries are at 100% charge @ 4.2V and should be recharged when they reach 3.8V"

The reason why you should run down a laptop battery the first couple of times is not the battery itself, but the life expectancy estimation algorithm that is built into the energy logic of a modern laptop.

Vapers don't have all that - and running an IMR battery completely empty would permanently kill it. With a REO it's theoretically possible to suck the battery dry, but you'd not get much vapor at 3.1 or so Volts, so you swap it out early enough.

If you can, swap the battery before it goes below 3.5V. It will have a much longer life this way. If an IMR ever happens to go below 2.6V it is safest to dump it and not even try to charge it. If you MUST charge it, watch it closely the whole time, and charge it outside if possible.
