Was just curious as to how many bottles of juice people have gone through until they found the perfect flavors?
What did you do with the awful flavors? Pitch them? Give them away?
How did you sample the flavors - RDA/Clearo/Something else? Do you rewick every time if on an RDA?
Did you buy sample packs?
I like the Kringle's Curse, and I've found a good Cinnabun to go with my morning coffee, and I found like 2 other juices that I like, but I'm looking to change things up a little bit. One flavor I have is 80/20 on the PG side...it's good, but not great. Some of the other ones I have are just awful. I have gone into stores and tried what they had, but I'm looking for something a little different - I'm thinking I might try online this time. I saw myvaporroom.com has sample packs, and Halo has a sample pack, so I was thinking about trying out those...heck, maybe even going for a drive after my dentist appointment tomorrow to find a shop that's farther away than everything I've tried here at home...maybe head out towards West Chester or Philly...depends on how bad my mouth hurts after tomorrows torture (crown and probably a root canal...I might need something more than a lollipop as a reward! lol)...and if I can find the right container to put my Magma in to travel.
Would it be a good idea to take my magma with me if I go somewhere? Clean it out and rewick/recoil it before I go?
Oh...and please don't suggest the Crab juice...tried it...won't ever do it again! lol

This is what I have right now:
Setups: iStick 20w & 30w, 2 eGo twist, 3 EMOW Megas, a GeniTank Mega, 3 EVOD Glass, an EVOD 2, Subtank Mini with 1.2 OCC coil, and a Magma RDA with 1.7 Ohm build.
juice:
Halo: Kringle's Curse - usually my 'go-to' (10w)
Obsession: Power - in my Magma right now...very tasty at 11w!
Obsession: Passion - in my Subtank Mini (14w) & GeniTank (9w)
Life Smoke: Cinnabun - Evod Glass (3.9v)
Azure: Creme de Menthe - EMOW Mega (3.9v)
BumbleBee: Strawberry Shortcake - EMOW Mega...but too sweet for some reason
Small collection of flavors from other local vendors all in EVOD Glass...Caramel Coffee, Cinnabun, Vanilla Custard...I don't vape them often...still on the fence about those flavors.

Thousands and thousands of dollars.

Well maybe not that much, but it sure feels that way sometimes.

I usually give away my failure flavors.

I'll rewick an RDA if it's a flavor I'm excited about. Sometimes i just throw a new juice in a Nautilus mini with a fresh coil, or I'll use it in a tank or dripper I've used something similar in recently. For instance, I'm vaping Good Life Vapor's Deadly Sin in a Nautilus or a Kayfun, and I get a similar juice, bakery flavor of some sort I just put it in there and vape the old stuff out until the new takes over.

Edit; Where are you from? I'm in the Harrisburg area.

I'd recommend finding a few simple flavours you like...strawberry, banana, peach etc.

By finding a few base type preferences you may be in a better position to judge the designer flavours from their descriptions.

Dekang and Hangsen make straight up flavours like that and a 30ml bottle will cost you only 3 or 4 dollars.
From fasttech of course. Anywhere else you'll get inflated prices.

I like to mix the strawberry and banana together and decide for myself which ratios taste the best.

It's a journey, for sure, I decided early on that I wasn't prepared to spend thousands to find a few that I liked. Did however waste hundreds.

Got into diy so I was able to use up most of the fail liquids by adding small amounts of complimentary flavours together with my larger diy mixes. They usually blended in fairly well and added extra flavour to my usually simple diy mixes.

It does not have to be a super expensive process but if a persons tastes are more refined and one is very particular it will be. Cheers.

I luckily found Nicoticket pretty early on  I don't like every flavor, but Clark sure makes good juice.

I just found a new one today that makes me very happy :). Jimmy the Juice Man caramel pear. Wow, it really does taste like caramel and pear.

Juice I don't like I pass on or trade.

I test drive all new juice in the Magma. And wash and rewick before changing flavors.

I started with a basic eGo batt and clearos. My first order of juice was I believe 5, 15 ml bottles of various flavors and I ended up finding one very good one and the rest were quite vapeable. The next order was a big bottle of the good one, small bottles of a couple of the others I had liked and a few new ones. From that batch I found another great juice. It pretty much kept going like that until I had found half a dozen or so great juices and the experimentation slowed down. There was only one juice I couldn't vape and threw out.

After a while I found I really liked menthol even though I had never liked menthol cigarettes. I bought some menthol crystals and some PG and mixed up a batch of menthol flavoring. I experimented with adding that to various juices and I started mixing different juices to see what I could create. Didn't take long until I was making my own juices. I was very systematic when I started that and really never lost much.

I bought a plain old 510 dripping atty (like this one) to try out new juices. I would flush it out between juices with water. These days I use an RDA for testing new recipes.

i have a cheap juice for it. once i figure out what set up works for the atty, it's rather easy from there. i use coil calculator to see how much warp i need to the target ohm. i take one wrap off for the resistance in the atty itself, and usually hit the target. usually my problem comes from the wick. i put too much wick and get burnt taste. then i'll have to re-wick.. usually 2-3 try for an atty. i don't think i wasted too much liquid. starting port for me RDA for cloud is at .4 ohm. RAD flavor is at .6 ohm. RTA is .7 ohm.

Tooks me about 6 months to find the perfect e-liquid for me - Red Bull and variants of it. Equipment wise, it's been an evolution with each step better than the last. I'm content now with the hardware I have. When I buy something, its a back up of something I own though I still browse the classifieds to see if anything irresistible pops up. Nothing new has popped up in a while.
