the day gets ever closer when I pull the trigger on my first reo (probably tonight or tomorrow), and I'm wondering how many 6ml bottles to order.

I live in Australia and shipping them all the time could cost a fair chunk, so I figure I should grab a few now. how many, do you think? maybe ten?

also - are they specific bottles or could I get some from say fasttech or ebay or something?

thanks!

You won't be disappointed in getting a Reo Grand. Someone will be along to post a link about getting other kind of bottles. (Sorry, I don't have the link)

An extra 6ml bottle comes with it free. I ordered 4 extra just in case I needed them. Since you've already considered Australia shipping... it wouldn't hurt to get as many as you can.

Ten will give you some wiggle room. :)
They're pretty cheap on Rob's site so you might as well stock up if you plan on changing flavors a lot.

It's more important to grab a couple of extra springs and maybe a rebuild kit so that you won't be without a Reo while you wait for shipping if something goes wrong.

I bought 6 with my Reo. Since December of last year I only changed one out because I couldn't get the peanut butter flavor out of it.

When i change flavors I rinse out the bottle with hot water...shake the excess out of it, then fill and I'm on my way again.

Although, I do have one Reo dedicated to non fruity flavors. The other 3 grands are fruity almost all the time and my OG mini doesn't come out of the vape kit much.

Thanks
Geo

Well...

You do get two with your Reo - one in place to be used plus an extra one with a screw cap. So there's that.

On a practical level this is really all about function. You need your bottle in order for a Reo to work. But do you need a pile of them?

I don't even carry an extra filled bottle when I'm out because my vaping habits never put me in a position where I need to refill when I'm out during the day. That's me, but there's that part to consider. Or you could just bring along your liquids bottle instead.

Again - just me - but I bought four extra bottles early on and I have yet to break them out. They are cheap enough though so if you buy a half dozen it's not a big $$$ outlay. Haven't had a 'bottle breakdown' either in nine months. No seam splits or anything.

The bottle isn't proprietary either. Most places that sell liquids in a 5 ml size - that bottle with have the same threading and will fit. They can't be the hard, clear plastic ones though.

I travel a lot so having a few empty bottles to play the swap game with before boarding a plane is nice. since you're so far away I'd grab some extra tube and cap kits.

More importantly get a rebuild kit or at least a spare spring or two. If getting an RM2 get some extra screws. and pickup a few 1 mm x 10 mm and 1.5 mm x 10mm o rings.all relatively inexpensive compared to what it would cost to ship later.

I'd suggest;
4 extra bottles
2 tube and cap kits
rebuild kit
spare spring
RM2 screws
2 1x10mm o rings
2 1.5x10mm o rings

I'd have to agree that it's not like you're going to go through bottles quickly - they're surprisingly durable.

To me, it would come down to how many juices you plan to vape at any one time, so a rough razor would be: one bottle per juice variety you want in rotation plus half that again for peace of mind. Two juices would mean three bottles, four would mean six, and so forth. Note that, as mentioned, you get two to start off with.

The bigger potential concern would be the springs and/or rebuild kit (you prolly should have one) as these are parts not easily sourced from anyone but Rob.

My 14500 mini - coming up on 3 years of use - on my third bottle. Dropped one off a tower changing bottles on a break. Couldn't get AVE Hype out of another.

REO VV Woodville - primary PV for well over 2 years. Same bottle that was in it when I got it. The spare that came with it is still in the plastic bag with the REO business card.

REO SL Grand a month old. I'm using the spare bottle that came with it. The one that was in it had a little ding in the lip and didn't seal to the O-ring without me feeling like I was over-tightening it.

It comes with two - if you also get a couple of spares, they will probably last you a very, very long time.

^^^^ Normally I'd say get a couple bottles, a tube and bottle kit, spare spring, spare RM2 screws and that's about it, but because of shipping costs and how long it will take to get you I'd say FB's list is good. It will cost you an extra $35-40, but it will be worth it if your Reo breaks down, because once you start vaping with a Reo everything else you've used will seem like junk. Except maybe a straight up RDA on a mechanical. Because that's basically what the Reo is. A RDA on a mechanical that you don't have to pull off the top cap (or drip tip) and drip your juice down into the atomizer. You just squonk the bottle and vape. So if you only have one and it breaks down.... you are really not going to want to wait for parts.

later,
Ken

These bottles last forever, at least mine do.
Got my Reo 2,5 years ago and I still use the original bottle (by vaping 1 bottle a day, roughly 900 refills).
(As a matter of fact, everything of this Reo still is original, even the color shows no major marks).
You might reserve bottles for different liquid tastes though, depending on your preferences.
I haven't found a liquid yet, that stained the bottle enough to ruin it for other liquids.
But then, I only vape a small bandwidth of tobacco and fruit liquids.

thanks gentlepeople! I think I'll grab maybe 8 bottles (including the ones included with the reo and repair kit) and if they sit in a drawer for a half decade that's fine.

I have a black catfish magma and two of freds Creative custom bullet buttons sitting at my reship address in Portland waiting for me to order my black wrinkle sl LP grand so they can all be packed together and sent to Australia where I will positively lose my mind. if I'm gonna drive into reoville it might as well be in a rolls Royce! now just gotta find a way to eat for the next fortnight!
